Kickr Core Calibration Issues

Hi all,

I bought my Wahoo Kickr Core 2nd hand almost exactly 2 years ago. I think I’ve done over 15,000 miles on it. I’ve recently been loaned a set of Assioma dual sided pedals (which have been all set up and calibrated correctly) to try and validate the trainer having been coned on various zwift events. This is where the problems start, yet also

• On average, the kickr reads 6-10% lower than the pedals

• This proportion varies with power. In the short anaerobic efforts (<4 mins) the kickr reads close to or higher than the pedals, but after that there is a significant drop off as described above

• This proportion varies with time. For example, I did this endurance ride this week, and the kickr fluctuated between 10% higher and 20% lower than the pedals

• This proportion varies with cadence. For example, in the prior mentioned ride, when I stood up, the kickr read in excess of 80w lower.

I’ve tried a few things to reduce this

• Standard Kickr spin down

• Factory Kickr spin down

• Various settings the kickr has for power smoothing etc

None of the above has fixed the power discrepancy. From the graph it looks like the kickr readings are oscillating between high and low power even with relatively constant Assioma readings. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Andrew

(Also during the ride shown in this image, the kickr was initially reading higher than the pedals, so I calibrated the Kickr, only got the trainer to read lower and be all over the place)

One thing you didn’t mention was whether you calibrated the Assiomas for your bike, including setting the correct crank length.

Apologies, I did do that too, will edit that in real quick!
