I just received my JB Victory and set it up about 30 minutes ago. Installed the app and started the setup. First issue, updating firmware went from version 4.5 to version 4.13. That seems odd to me but I said ok, update away. Second issue is that I have ZERO options to connect the Victory to wifi using the JB app. I go into settings and see no Wifi options and neither do I see Wifi in the Advanced settings. It’s as if I have no way of setting up Wifi with the JB app with Android? Is this an Android issue or should I try borrowing an Apple device to setup? If so, this will be a hassle. Anyone else seen the same. I just received my JB Victory on Friday and getting around to testing it out at lunch today. But so far, the experience isn’t smooth…yet. Thanks in advance.
There were some issues with particular versions of Android, but I thought they were mainly around being able to use the app to upgrade the trainer. But still worth checking from another device and do tell Jet Black if that does turn out to be the case. They have been fixing things they are told about.
It’s a stupid design like the rest of this product. For some reason if you open the app it doesn’t show the Wifi setup option again. If you go to setting>advanced options>enable setup wizard and restart the app the Wifi optiion setup should be there. It took me awhile to figure out this one as well.
That’s odd. Jetblack’s video (starting here) shows how to enable WiFi using the JB app. Is the trainer’s Bluetooth paired to the Zwift app at that point? You should only pair over Bluetooth to either the Jetblack app, or to Zwift, never both at the same time.
No. Shuji is correct and I just tested it. The Settings | WiFi connection is only shown when the app is actually connected to the trainer. No need to re-enabled the setup wizard.
I have the same issue and have an open ticket with them about it. Received mine 1/3, and it doesn’t show any WiFi networks, not even my neighbors 2.4 who I can normally see on my iOS. I first sent a ticket through the website, then they asked me to submit a support ticket through the app so they can check the trainer logs, that was 1/29.
“ please send us your trainers serial number.
Please also connect to our App then go directly to setting. Email support. This will send us your trainers logs. We can then look at what the issue may be,”
When I initially set mine up, the wifi option initially showed up in the JB app but I wanted to use BT and set it up that way. I eventually wanted to switch to wifi and that option had disappeared! Weird. I unplugged everything, rebooted my phone, and eventually the wifi option reappeared and I got it set up (and it’s been absolutely rock solid since then).
