Long time reader, first time poster…and you know its bad when I post but I think I’m finally done with the victory.
They want me to send back my unit for a replacement part but to be honest I have a fair idea how that will work out…a period of time to go back, a period of time to fix and a period of time to return and and in the end no change to issues…or worse still wait longer for a replacement.
And even then there’s still the firmware issues and an app that is practically unusable…and as of this morning will not even connect to my trainer at all.
Thankfully I have not had the physical issues as yet and the power has been stable and quite accurate. Even so, not for me I’m afraid and I’m willing to cut my losses and move on, such is my frustration. Great to advertise all these upgrades and functions but entirely different to actually deliver on them reliably, the reviewers must have ‘got lucky’ with their units.
I can only hope that future users of the product have better luck.
I have alternatives in mind but open to any suggestions also.
J.
Sorry to hear you are having issues with your trainer. Are they not able to send you a new trainer and you send the old one back to them? That’s what I did, so I wasn’t without a trainer.
I’m starting to feel the same. If they had some better communication about known issues and expected firmware release dates I may be a bit more patient, but I’m almost ready to try and get a refund (not overly hopeful since I don’t have the original packaging anymore) and probably just go get a wahoo kickr.
I’ve had a poor experience with garmin (original Neo broke and then they sent me a refurb Neo 2 which broke and is now out of warranty) so just figured try the other major brand. Probably see if i can find it in a physical store so hopefully I don’t need to deal with postage of these things again.
nope, just asked to send it back. there’s just too much going on with it and it’s not worth my time on it any more, I can see it just drag on and on. I just don’t feel theres any good will or that they are willing to stand over the product and do what it takes…seems a little chaotic imho…but that is just my observations.
hey, it is what it is. I don’t expect the world or anything like it, just the service/product that was promised post-payment.
oooohhh, work ongoing or another virtual carrot on a stick.
Its all been kinda ‘fake it till you make it’ but a lot of fake and very little make.
Interesting that it says all trainers will be brought to same level…will it even be the right one?
I like the ‘in theory’ part…that’s probably the most accurate part of that statement.
I hope for buyers sakes they can eventually live up to the reviews they’ve been given and the functionality that has been hailed as the standard to which all other trainers should aspire.
Imho, for now the functions are the concept to which trainers should aspire, the reality for me, unfortunately, is different
Did you solve that in any way? I send the first unit back, because the trainer felt absolutely horrible.
I reached out to Jetblack at 20th of march but they didnt even care to reply to my detailled email.
I dont see myself ever getting anything from them again.
I sent it back too “for repairs”, waited for weeks and weeks but their support “was not able to locate” the vibration problem, never even addressed the power metering problem, and told me they’d “look into” the uneven pedaling problem and then just never got back even after multiple reminders.
Finally I asked for a refund (multiple times before getting it). After this ordeal, I also will never touch another Jetblack product again.
I am saddened by this, however, here we go. I am in USA. Received Victory 1 month ago. Setup and initial impressions were good, WiFi buggy but whatever. After ~200k there’s a thunk under load as well as an awful noise. All worsen until not rideable. Trouble shooting and it’s not the cog or bike or the moon phase, it’s the trainer. I contact customer support, initial response is quick…… Now waiting over 2 weeks for RMA and return info. I get an automated reply yet no info. No customer service of note. I’m returning it for a full refund - I hope they refund me. This thing was not ready for prime time. DO NOT BUY. Wait and see if they get their act together.
New JetBlack Victory owner here. I read this thread before purchasing, but disappointed that in just my second session, I had a complete disconnect issue (WiFi) about 2 miles from the end of a new route badge. That was bad enough, but I couldn’t even connect via Bluetooth to complete the route. Ended up pairing via Ant+, but that meant I had no virtual gearing. Contacted Customer Support but have not heard back yet (5 days later).
I contacted them and have just been given my return information so I’ll package it up over the weekend and ship it back and now start looking for another trainer.
Bummer that there’s still issues with the noises and vibrations. I suspect that there’s still bearing preloading issues, and the vibrations come from between the flywheel shaft and flywheel pulley where there can be some slop along the key if things aren’t torqued down just right.
After a pretty rough start with inaccurate power and some bearing noise (described much earlier in this thread), I’m now at ~4,200 km and over 6 days of usage on the odometer. The only persistent issue now is that I’m stuck on firmware 4.13, which works great from a stability standpoint. Candance is occasionally off, especially when soft pedaling after a hard effort or on descents. Sometimes power doesn’t immediately return to 0 so supertuck is delayed, but to be honest, I haven’t noticed this as much lately. There’s also a bit of thermal drift that can inflate numbers on especially punchy courses without enough freewheeling time for an autocalibration. Richmond and Innsbruckring (legsnapper) are ones that have caused issues for me recently, and I get about 10-15 watts of drift when several ~1 min punches >500 watts heat up the flywheel.
Here’s the comparison from my ride tonight on the WTRL TTT:
My powermeter probably inflates the numbers due to sticky watts on the descent (punching though group at full sprint, then coasting to let them sling shot past, rinse-repeat x3-4):
I’ve also had good results with mine. I reverted firmware to 4.13 to solve for WiFi drops. If I remember correct 4.15 was also stable?
The odometer hasn’t worked since January for me. I am approaching 10k on Vivtory and odometer reads roughly 2600k. That doesn’t bother me since not all km’s in zwift are equal.
The ride time is way off that and is a bigger deal for me. I have been showing 6 days, 1 hour and 38 minutes since January. In my opinion run time is more important for deciding service intervals than an odometer.
