Introducing Zwift Companion Fitness Tracker [April 2025]

Hi Zwift Team,

First off—huge kudos on the new feature allowing outdoor activities to sync from Garmin and Wahoo starting April 8th! That’s a fantastic step forward for those of us who want to keep our indoor and outdoor training efforts in one ecosystem.

I wanted to ask if there are any plans to extend this functionality to users of the Hammerhead Karoo devices. Many cyclists in the community (myself included) rely on the Karoo for our outdoor rides due to its rich navigation and training features, and being able to sync those rides to Zwift for tracking and progression would be a big win.

Would love to hear if this is on the roadmap—or if there’s anything we Karoo users can do to help make it happen!

Thanks again for continuing to evolve the platform.

Ride on,
Tobias aka Propellerman

Zwift Insider reported “Hammerhead compatibility is expected later in the summer.”

Note that this does not mean it will come later in the summer (or ever) but it’s a positive sign that they would like to do it.

Well… I sure hope it will happen. If you vote for my post it might tip the balance

Today, we introduce a new feature called Fitness Tracker to Zwift Companion.

  • View your indoor and outdoor rides in one place, track progress with instant feedback, and stay motivated with goal tracking and streaks. Zwift Companion (ZC) brings your training tools into a single-view with Fitness Tracking. See details here.

NOTE: for outdoor rides to show up - disconnect Wahoo / Garmin sync and reconnect. Here’s how.

  • Maintain a streak for 12 weeks, and you’ll unlock a Streak Saver that can be used as a lifeline for those inevitable off weeks, so your streak progress never gets lost. See this FAQ for details.

These features will be enabled from the server side in a phased rollout to be completed April 10 @ 00:00 UTC.
Use this site to convert to your local time.

I was pretty confused why I couldn’t seem to change my weekly goal from distance to something else on the Fitness Tracker.

Eventually I figured out that it was because I was pressing on the downwards-pointing triangle at the end of the “Distance” drop-down, and actually that’s the only part of the drop-down that doesn’t work if you press on it (on Android at least) :man_facepalming:

Pressing on any other part of where it says “Distance” works, and brings me up the list of options to choose from.

Does the Streak Saver get applied automatically?
Does everyone start at zero or if you are already over 12 weeks you have a Streak Saver?

An initial grant of streak savers has been done, so anybody with a current streak of 12-23 has received 1 streak saver, and anybody with current streak 24+ has received 2 streak savers. Zwifters that had broken their streaks in the past 1 - 2 weeks may even see their streaks revived with this initial grant as the streak savers are automatically applied.

Thanks Steve, we’re tracking this issue with certain Android devices and plan to have a fix in an upcoming ZC release.

Please can we have an option within the companion app settings to disable the Fitness Tracker section on the Home Screen.

It takes up a lot of space, and as I already use other tools to track fitness (and also ride on other platforms), the metrics presented here are never going to be a ‘true’ reflection of my ‘fitness’ and therefore I’d like to have the option to not see this on the homepage when opening the companion.

Thanks.

I was a little vague in my question about Streak Saver being applied automaticaly.
If you miss a week - does your Streak Saver get used automatically?

If you miss a week - does your Streak Saver get used automatically?

Yes, streak savers are applied automatically at the end of the week that is missed.

I’m sure we could play “what if” all day, but here goes another quesiton.
If you have a streak of 60 weeks, so you have 2 Streak Savers.
You miss a week and use one of your Streak Savers.
Since you still have more than 24 weeks, do you get another Streak Saver automatically, or do you now have to start another 12 week Streak to get another Streak Saver?

Question regarding Garmin Connect syncing outdoors activities with respect to privacy (via Garmin Connect).

First of all, I like the concept even though I have always maintained my active account status during the riding seasons.

My concern is with Garmin Connect activity privacy when synced into Zwift (via ZCA). My Zwift account is set to followers only (a mixture of people I know in person, from online, and strangers). My Garmin Connect app is also set to personal connections only (people I know in person). By syncing outside activities from Garmin to ZCA, is this allowing my Zwift followers to see my activities (ie locations) from Garmin Connect? If so, that’s a deal breaker for me.

Also, it appears as if ZCA is replicating my activities from GC (I import my rides from Zwift into GC). Everything (activities) in my ZCA is duplicative (EDIT: all except for total mileage). It appears the algorithm sees duplicative activities (and doesn’t double count distance). :+1:

Thanks.

As long as it’s been at least 12 weeks since your last streak saver was granted, you’ll immediately receive a new one.

Hey Paul, could it be the outdoor activity sync is phased release? I have updated iOS, Garmin Connect and Zwift Companion app, disconnected and reconnected but Im still not seeing any outdoor activity nor anything related to the load features

Outdoor activities brought into Zwift are only viewable by you in your “Just Me” activity feed in ZC. They are not visible to other Zwifters.

I think this Streak Saver feature is the most useless and silly thing ZHQ has come up with so far.
Can’t tweak racing score or put robo pacer on TT bike or do the 55 kg pacer or what seems like a hundred other things actually requested.

Any streak revival due to historically loaded outdoor rides? Would bump me up considerably
