It is true. And I shall gladly move up if i deserved it. I just want to finish the league I started. This is the non-sense, this is the issue and this is where the very big punishment is.
I’m glad someone has finally pointed this out.
If the bar is set at 3.2 for an upgrade, then CE using CP doesn’t need the 5% buffer.
What I still find mind boggling, is having put a marker in the ground and said yes you are a B cat and that’s the correct category you should be in, you can go race the primary race series in the cat below.
Also, something somewhere has to be done about the culture of racing when users see an upgrade as a punishment… How was it allowed to come this far?

When you get kicked out from a league one race before the end… it’s a punishment.
Solution is: letting ending the league (maybe in some limits), upgrading for all the other races.
In my case i am 8th in the league GC and just ended 13 of the last race. Nothing that is an outrageous domination. So it does not bring anything to any one. It is just a stupid displeasure.
What 5% are you referring to, James? CE and ZP use completely different methods to calculate categories, and different activities too (e.g. workouts for CE as well as races).
So I don’t follow how a 5% adjustment will make CE and ZP cats “the same”.

But it will push the CE cat limit above ZP cat limit in nearly all cases so create a lot less complaints until you get riders swinging the other way where they are higher cat on ZP than what they are for CE then their competitors will be complaining.
But we are already in that situation sometimes with ZP looking at 90 days, CE 60 days.
It’s all a bit of a mess we just need one system the sooner the better, I’m massively in favour of CE but like most things in Zwift the implementation of it is grinding to near standstill and further missed a trick by not using it in their headline zrl races series gives some very mixed messages what the future looks like.

zwift should be forcing wtrl to use CE imo seeing as they are running races on behalf of zwift and they have said that CE is here to stay, there are just so many different systems in play that no wonder people are confused and at least when it was purely zwiftpower people knew where to look and had data available

No please! These forums are an example of so many issues that Category Enforcement still have!
WTRL have much better concepts about racing than ZwiftHQ. Zwift shouldn’t force WTRL to do anything. Zwift can’t ask you for dual recording of wattage and video of your weight, but WTRL can.
Zwift Racing League with Category Enforcement would be pure chaos and (already conformed) teams forced to split.
The ZRL - WTRL Sub CAT system is the best that we have now similar to RANK system. The teams are closer to performance than in any other Zwift League.

Those guys are epic for Zwift Racing, like James Hodges from KISS that created ZwiftPower.

Any system is acceptable to me as long as you are always allowed to finish a league you started. Than noone holds back, noone is exclused, and everyone is happy to improve.
Then WTRL should be running their own races not ones on behalf of Zwift, if Zwift decide to use a certain algorithm to do categories then it’s only right that this is used unilaterally across all Zwift races

So a league where someone sandbags to start with is fine then, right? They can sandbag to get into a.lower category and then let rip. That sounds like a lot of fun.

I understand your point Rich, but this new system just change the people who dominates the races for other ones without a clear improvement of the system.
But last comment from my part, James stated the the ranking system is the future. I’ll accept Zwift as it is and will wait having fun. I do love this game!

It actually do a lot more than that, it limit the amount of sandbagging and it also force people into the correct starting pen before the event instead of filtering in the end, this is a huge change and a big win for Zwift CE.

I’d rather be racing people of the same category than sandbaggers racing lower purely to fuel their ego, WTRL is full of sandbaggers
