How to remove the Topic Timeline window

How do I remove the “Topic Timeline” that continually appears each time I go in to a new topic in the Forum?

Topic timeline persistent in forums

When I go into a topic in the forums, the topic timeline box appears. But is never disappears, which is seriously annoying as it overshadows the text in the topic. I have tested this on firefox and edge. Is there a way to turn that off, or is it a bug?
