I’m not sure Golden Cheetah (read Cheater) is a great name for a fitness app. That said, I’d be interested in tracking my FTP over time, otherwise, what’s the point?
It’s true that’s it’s just a number, but all numbers are just numbers. However numbers represent; targets, mile stones, achievements and so much more. Tracking numbers helps us improve and FTP is just another metric to monitor that improvement. If it’s value is so low, then we should have a new metric with relevance and importance. GCN did a great video on whether FTP was worth it. There’s some great science I there end I’d recommend anyone looking at FTP to check it out.
