Have a lap button to segment interval work similar to garmin computer

FYI there is another feature request related to repeating intervals

Hello,
trying to put the emphasis on this feature that would be a complete game changer for me. Iā€™ve recently acquired a direct drive trainer with virtual shifting and it made my zone 2 rides much more interesting and engaging. A lap button would made my intensity days on the trainer way easierā€¦
Now that the HUD is changed, it doesnā€™t seem like a big dealā€¦
I know the team is working on a lot of features but this would help a lot of racer without disrupting the experience of others. (sorry for my english, iā€™m french)

Yeah, a lap button would be very welcome.
And, it would be awesome, if you could also activate it via zwift play controllers.
Ideally, zwift play buttons should be customizable (yes, another request!).

Intervals.icu and strava both autodetect intervals from a ride/workout, just sayingā€¦

yes, but a lap button is very useful to pace your effort while doing the intervals !

10 years ago it was on the Zwift ā€œto doā€ list so Iā€™m sure weā€™re getting close nowā€¦.

Hi,

Recently got a coach and we use TrainingPeaks platform. Something he has highlighted is the inability to record ā€˜lapsā€™ on Zwift of efforts like you can do on say a Garmin Cycle Computer to gain an accurate visualisation on efforts.

Would be good to see this added as a feature to aid in training review.

If you search the forums youā€™ll see requests for this go back a decade. Weā€™ll probably be able upgrade our rear derailleur to ceramic bearings to save 1.5sec on a 40k TT before we get a lap button.

Lap button seems pretty essential to me especially if using TP.

Iā€™ve found that if you create a custom workout on Zwift this creates laps and exports them to TP which is fine - but using Zwift ride it would be great not to have to sit and create a custom workout before a training ride - a button on handlebars or companion app could be designated to be a lap button - so much easier.
