Group Run/Walk Sync?

Hi Zwifters!

Since joining Zwift I have had multiple friends join me in my daily walks. We noticed though even going the same exact speed, our avatars would eventually space apart from each other and would all single file between each other will a decent amount of space.

I would love Zwift to either fix this issue or implement a Group Walk/Run where an established group can walk/run side by side and sync to each other regardless of speed. Meaning if I want to walk faster but my fellow group wants to go slower, we still stay near each other to maintain the group.

What are your thoughts? I would love to walk with my group more closely, and be able to go different speeds.

This happens when you go round a bend and it’s entirely accurate to what happens in real life. Those on the inside line pull ahead.
You could just speed up our slow down for a fraction to go side by side again although this will be limited as you’ll end up blocking the road.

We always de-sync within 1-2 minutes at the same speed. We just want to feel like we’re part of a group and closer to each other. There seems to be a forced “space” that Zwift has implemented for walkers.

I don’t think blocking the road would be an issue considering this is a digital world.

There is a deliberate seperation between runners and cyclists. It’s designed to stop cyclists riding through runners. Also by the same token you shouldn’t be able to pass through a fellow runner.

It’ll put you in a line deliberately.

There is rubber banding for cyclists which keeps everybody together irrespective of power output but this doesn’t exist for runners I’m afraid.

Thank you for clarifying. Zwift should offer rubber banding for runners and walkers.

There’s lots of things that runners would like to have parity with cyclist but alas running is free so the speed of development will never be the same as cyclists.
