Well now that Zwift is charging a lot more per month, my tolerance for the bugs and deficiencies is definitely going down.
Group riders nearby has been broken for the last several updates. e.g. in Watopia even through a majority of riders will take a flat route it sends you up the hill on the first turn every time regardless of what everyone around you is doing, well before any opportunity to warm up. This is very irritating if you just want to hop on and do an unstructured ride or a ride with others which, other than racing, is what Zwift’s advantage over other apps is in the first place (there are much better programs for structured workouts). It seems the feature is just flat out broken.
I appreciate you bringing this to our attention, I’m sorry for the troubles, and I certainly understand how game bugs and issues can test one’s patience. I’ve checked with our team, and there’s a known issue where Zwifters are sometimes inadvertently misrouted, going the wrong direction on certain routes in events, including meetups, group rides, group workouts, and races.
Our team is working on a fix and while there isn’t a workaround for this issue yet, the fix will come from our end, so all you should have to do is keep your game client updated. It’s been suggested that the issue may be related to the strength of one’s internet connection during Zwift rides, so you may try restarting your network devices {router or router/modem combo) prior to logging in to Zwift to join a group ride or other event.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we continue improving Zwift.
