Game Update v1.67 [June 2024]

Try again. Your answer has many faults.

I would but I can’t be bothered. It’s a big issue to you, it isn’t to me. Both valid opinions. I hope Zwift listens to your concerns. I don’t have time to enter into a debate, I’m off to ride the Grind, it’s ace. I’ve been on it constantly since I got the update yesterday. I’m sure you’ll think it’s worth the wait.

What about content-creators? In the online game world people are trying to build an audience using games. Part of the growth strategy is being the first to show and review new releases. If you have to wait 3 days to get the new content you have missed the window to produce the early review or a true ā€œfirst-impressionā€ experience. For the climb portal release I got the update 6 days after it started rolling out. By the time I got the release I had watched dozens of people ride it that it wasn’t even new anymore.

I understand the reason but it is band-aid to the real problem which is testing. I have not seen other online games phase rollouts like this. The more common thing I see in games is an early release on a test build/server or people that apply for early access but the public rollout is at a set time for all.

It has, my PR for the loop is on the original CRR, when it was treated as a standard road surface.

Given the mix of platforms, like are any Windows 10/11 machines like any other ? it makes sense to distribute to a small cohort of representive machines 1st to catch any snafu’s. Apple & Android are far more stable platforms, so we should all really blame Microsoft for allowing so much flexibility on each machine.

So for example my PC has dev tools installed so will generally work but there’s a small chance zwift will explode, think I need to roll a 6… (with hilarious consequences ! )

edit: typos ffs

Don’t make me laugh. What a nonsense

If you can’t be bothered why reply?

I realise this is just one example, but it is a pretty big game with an audience of millions:

World of Warcraft often does content releases at different times. While an expansion might release globally (e.g. The War Within will release that way), generally speaking content patches go live with each region’s maintenance window/ā€œthe weekly resetā€.

That’s 8am Pacific on Tuesday for US servers, 5am CET on Wednesday for the EU.

So yeah, although we all pay a subscription, more often than not US players get the new stuff a day earlier than EU players do.

Already a known bug admitted with screen shaking on steep sections.

I’m amused that this is at least partially directed towards me.

Like I said there’s a way to reroll your place in the rollout lottery. Do that if it’s so important to you.

And FYI iOS devices (like Apple TV) are always a day behind the PC release. Now granted everyone knows that ATV is a bad way to Zwift but I haven’t heard any ranting about that.

This may seem like nitpicking, but a more accurate version of your suggestion would be as follows:

Zwift announces ā€œhey everyone youve been paying a monthly subscription we made new content, Jim’s PC gets it today, you? Maybe in two days on your iPad, but maybe today on another device that you own.ā€

The rollout is random, and on a per-device basis and not on a per-user basis. So if you have multiple devices then you have a bigger chance of getting it on one of those on day one of the rollout. I’m not taking a stance on whether that’s a good/bad/indifferent way to do things, just pointing out how it actually works.

The rollout takes place over three days total - Day 1 is phased Windows/Mac/Android, Day 2 adds iPhone/iPad/Apple TV, Day 3 is all the devices that didn’t get it on day 1 or 2.

Stop talking sense…the angry mob won’t like rational comments!

Hello Zwifters! Please note that the rollout continues to include iOS and tvOS devices today.

At this point you are just being unkind.

Yet it’s still not rolled out for my Windows PC, nor my tvOs.

This is such a let-down after the initial excitement.

Reint Kunst, same here but Zwift doesn’t care. You are number xxx you can wait.

I’m only joking. I’m on TVOS, I haven’t got the update. People really need to lighten up and not take things so seriously. We are talking about a video game and people having to wait about 48 hours. Laughable how seriously people are taking it.

i`ve lost all 90 day data on Alpe du Zwift after the update on the leaderboard. Update: they are back after riding for an hour.

Check if the leaderboard is set to always on. Try AUTO if it is.

Bypassing the phased rollout is possible, just install zwift on a new pc. It downloaded the new version for me on a pc where I didn’t use Zwift on before. Seems that Zwift stores some hardware id to determine which pc will get the update.
