Game Update v 1.97 [September 2025]

Thanks Shuji! I’ll power cycle Apple TV box and upgrade to tvOS v26. I’ll give it another go tomorrow and see what happens. Will keep you posted.

John: I have a cog. Thanks for input!

I actually see this type of thing right here in Makuri while riding routes like Wandering Flats, and it leaves me “wandering” if there are still going to be any flats. It appears to go toward a climb (the dirt road ahead?)

I saw it while riding Thursday’s Pineapple Torturefest event and thought to capture a screenshot.

Once passing that little dirt spur, it flattens back out again.

Did you do anything that could cause your base resistance to vary, like Trainer Difficulty Scaling or run something on an app other than Zwift while having Trainer Difficulty set to 0?

You can change the base resistance of your trainer in a scenario such as: Trainer Difficulty to 0 on Zwift, set trainer resistance in SIM or ERG mode with another app (example: Wahoo App), and not power cycle the trainer, then the shifting in Zwift in the same virtual gears will be “easier” or “harder” depending on where the last base resistance was for your trainer.

I’ve had this situation occur on KICKR BIKE V2. The solution is to toggle (or exit) any other app that can modify the trainer’s resistance setting, set Zwift Trainer Difficulty back to Maximum, and then go through a few iterations of gradient changes to restore the base resistance.

These settings can get changed if you’re not careful in the Control section of the Wahoo App, like if you use the app to control a Headwind Fan. Even if you just touched one of those toggles from Passive to Target Power to Simulation, it will change the base resistance and it will stay there as long as Trainer Difficulty is 0 on Zwift.

Otherwise, is “Resistance” selected in ZwiftApp correctly in the Pairing Screen? This can also cause these issues.

Just went to the website and did a fresh download. It’s fine now but still not ideal.

I don’t believe I changed anything in my setup to cause base resistance to vary between Tues and yesterday, but I will definitely check. I have a headwind fan and do control it via the app. Thanks for your input!

Are you still getting the Z114 error every time?

After the fresh download, it’s gone away, for now.

Hi Shuji. I power cycled ATV and installed tvOS v26. I also rebooted modem, router, ethernet network switch, and Wifi repeater/range extender. After doing all this, I did a test ride today and everything was back to normal virtual shifting with no issues for 48 km ride with Maria RoboPacer. I also looked into Greg Rajkovic’s input on Trainer Difficult settings and didn’t notice any issues. I never had the Trainer Difficulty set to 0 on Zwift. I did complete the Ultimate Warm-Up workout before my TTT race yesterday and noticed a weird feeling with virtual shifting gearing when the workout finished and it transitioned out of ERG mode. Didn’t think anything of it, but this might have been when the hiccup happened, and it carried over to my TTT race and then cooldown ride. Not sure, but it’s normal now. Thanks Shuji for your help! Thanks Greg and John also for your input! This forum was great to help me quickly resolve my issue!

Still would like an off option for the extra visuals that have been put in the game.

I’d ditch my headgear if Zwift would give me the Male Pattern Baldness hair style!

Ignoree..video screenshots don’t seem to be enabled mid ride

So looking back at this I finally had to “deal” with the new pairing screen and… I am personally not a fan.

I went to refill a bottle of mine and for some reason my HRM didn’t reconnect (using ANT+). This was going into ZRL where we get points deducted if HRM not connected… 2 minutes in I realized “oh crap where’s my HR???”, meanwhile I know it wasn’t the HRM’s fault as my Wahoo Headwinds reconnected and were adjusting as per usual.

So here I found myself going into an attacking hill climb on ZRL trying to figure out how to get my HRM to reconnect only for it to never appear on the list, because it for some reason was “not recommended” (or rather, was in the unfiltered list only).

If only a single device is showing up in the new pairing screen when selecting “ALL”, it should BE in the recommended list.

I’ve also never had my HRM never reconnect to Zwift like that before but I’ll overlook that because maybe it was a weird situation.

Point is, from a user end perspective, Zwift was telling me to not use an HRM because it didn’t recommend it. Which, hopefully is as confusing as it sounds; purely because it was only finding it via ANT+; but ANT+ does not show up on the recommended list.

To the average user, this is only going to cause more confusion; it’s not recommended.. so should I not use it?? I don’t know!
It’s like handing a kid a red pencil and telling them they can’t use a red pen on a test; is red the issue, or is it the device?

I have support issue with Sennheiser MOMENTUM Sport, but Zwift Support reply to me below,

Thank you for reaching out! I'm Johana, a Zwift Technical Specialist. Feel free to contact me anytime.

Currently, Momentum Sport is not included in the officially verified compatible heart rate monitors for Zwift.

If you need to use Zwift Companion, we recommend considering a heart rate monitor that has been fully verified for compatibility with Zwift.

Does this apply to cycling as well?

Since heart rate can be measured without going through Zwift Companion (confirmed on Android Zwift), I considered adding a Bluetooth receiver to the PC and routing it through that.

If this is also unsupported, then I’ll need to reconsider.

Was following a group entering the jungle on the way to ADZ, it was just four riders but the dust cloud was tremendous. I would disable that if I could.

Welcome to my Blocked List.

It’s getting crowded in there so you’ll need to budge up.

Bit of an odd response from support there, as support for those Sennheisser earbuds was added in v1.94 Zwift Game v1.94 [July 2025] (v1.97 added support for the recorded temperature values from these earbuds to be written back into the .fit file).

I’d get back to them; personally, I’ve not had any issues with those earbuds pairing to my Windows PC via a bluetooth dongle.

I glad to hear that. I will try this method.

And I believe this new “auto” selection is the root cause of many issues, tilt, BT disconnect, etc … Please roll it back and finalize the dev before releasing it again, or in the settings let us unable it.

Could you we get mixed/mismatched socks in a future update? Basically the ability to activate both fire and lightning effects…. With the sock length slider.
