I’m running 1.86 on an M1 Macbook and I’m finding that every ride my bike choice gets forgotten/randomized. This also means my garage is a mess since the most recently used bike is not at the top, or rather - my choice of bike is way down the list. The workaround is to select the bike before each and every ride - of course, it’s now important to stay on a specific bike to earn the upgrades. What is going on here? This is a pretty disruptive bug.
Does it sound similar to this?
I have an M4 Mac and not experiencing this.
Are you only logged in on one device?
I’ve been using particular bikes for rides and Zwift remembers them.
Yes, same issue!
- Yep no issue with reconnection! When I power cycled my right controller and it reconnected right away. 2) Yes it used to be the case that all you had to do was initially connect two controllers to enable steering. Problem is that you used to be able to power one controller off when it was having braking or steering issues while still having the game recognize you as having steering if you started with two controllers; you could power an offending controller off and continue on with the rest of the group. Now, though, when you shut off a controller you lose steering and then you are totally hung out to dry and can’t draft. It would be great if the game would revert back to the previous update so there is a fall back for when controllers fail; i.e. you can turn off a controller and still ‘have steering.’
Re: the controllers, yes there is an issue which is very common with these play controllers. I have already reached out to support as it will no longer recalibrate.
Re: firmware on my kickr, thank you!! I had no idea I was behind. I will get that done!
The two above are irrelevant to the first point, though; because the controllers are quite unreliable and the draft algorithm is so fundamentally different for those without steering, restoring a ‘once you have a steering, you always have steering’ standpoint within a ride is critical.
PS - a better fix would be to actually make those without steering able to draft those with it. Smaller races with steering enabled always favor those that have controllers.
Zwift is locking up. Windows 11. After pairing screen, if rout is not selected, the game freezes and needs to be shut down (unresponsive) and re-started. Today, it froze while riding Big Spin about 30 minutes in. All updates were applied, still having issues.
could you give some details on your zwift set up.
what are the specs of your PC?
Tacx Flux trainer
HP ENVY
12th Gen Intel(R) Core™ i7-1260P 2.10 GHz
16.0 GB RAM
Windows 11 Home
Memory usage seems high but I’ve never checked before.
First things I would do on that system:
- Install the latest video driver obtained directly from Intel: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/785597/intel-arc-iris-xe-graphics-windows.html
- Turn off Video Screenshots in Zwift settings
2nd workout in a row not importing into Garmin now. Think I’m going to switch to other platforms now that the zwift cog works else where. Hopefully you guys can fix stuff eventually. Barely have time to workout, sysadmin for a living, shouldn’t have to come home and “work” on this ■■■■■■■ expensive video game
No update this week?
April fools! No update for you!
I was thinking the same, there should be one. But as usual no communication to customers.
Maybe the surprise is Zwift is shutting down and they didn’t want to announce that on 1st April.
Same thing happened this morning where my controller got stuck pulling to the right. Another teammate had his brakes come on. Both of us had to turn our controllers off which mean we were getting hung out to dry from the rest of the group. The controllers mess up which is known and not that big of deal (esp. if you have braking sensitivity set to zero!) when you can just power them off and keep chugging along. With this update though you lose that steering status and that is a total bummer. I think it would be good to change that back.
PS - I got my firmware updated on my core this afternoon. We will take a look to see if that helps.
