Game Update v 1.68 [June 2024]

seems to have reset all my hardware preferences e,g it turned road feel and haptic feedback back on instead of being off which they have been since a very long time

3 posts were split to a new topic: Wahoo Kickr v6 wifi connection issue

@Mark_Hulskamp and @Mantis_Toboggan - do you happen to have the KICKR Climb and are you using an angle different than 0%?

@_MattinGC_rBsqT - when you have this with KICKR Bike V2 in ERG mode, do you have the bike set to 0% or with positive tilt (like riding uphill slightly?)

I discovered something significant today. If the bike is tilted back, this problem is significant - and about a year into owning my bike I tilted my bike back because the handlebars kept dropping down and I said to heck with it.

When I make the bike lean forward (downhill), the ā€œbiteā€ of the trainer in ERG mode is immediately more aggressive. When I tilt it back, while adjusting it, it is less aggressive. Eventually it normalizes to the gradient displayed on the screen and the function matches that above.

At 0%, it feels MUCH better. Still not perfect, but the bike angle is definitely impacting the base resistance algorithm. Why this is the case? I consider it part of fit, not simulation, when in manual mode. This shouldn’t happen.

I expect that this arises from Wahoo firstly and the Zwift integration either needs to consider Wahoo’s implementation (as I suspect indieVelo does), or Wahoo needs to address it on their side.

I’m not a climb user, just a V5

Thanks for confirming. I found (at least on KICKR Bike) that the tilt makes this even worse, but 0% did not eliminate it entirely.

This morning’s workout on Sand and Sequoias (ZwiftApp 1.69) was miserable on the downhill parts.

@Mark_Hulskamp @_MattinGC_rBsqT @Mantis_Toboggan - are you using Metric or Imperial units on the ERG workouts?

I commented in the 1.69 thread about this based on another rider who commented during a group workout that she only had this issue riding Metric.

I switched it to Imperial and the difference was remarkable.

I asked in the 1.69 thread why this is. You can try it and see if it changes your experience. It’s no fun to ride in miles but it is also no fun to pedal ā€œhardā€ downhills in low cardio zones.

My Zwift is currently set to Km’s, I’ll switch to miles the next time I do a work out… currently in Britain a strange fire ball is in the Sky, so I’ve been enjoying the warmth while I can.

Never lasts though, so I’m sure I’ll be back on Z soon
