Carl. It looks like Zwift is primarily using the nvidia GPU and not the Intel at all. Its also not accessing the shared GPU memory. Is this normal? Before this latest Zwift and windows update my system was very stable. Now, not so much.
Both of your GPUs have some issues in Zwift right now. If you use the Nvidia GPU, you should employ this workaround:
If you use the Intel iGPU, you should install this driver:
There are some tips for doing the Intel driver install in that topic, if you run into problems.
If you upload a game log file to trainerdx.com, that will confirm which GPU was being used when Zwift was running.
Hi Paul. I tried the workaround (though i’m using 11 not 10). 9 miles in I got another freeze. it looked like the gpu went to 0 then spiked and it crashed. very frustrating. it was the lower graphics quality. any other suggestions? possible to get a refund from zwift?
You should comment on that workaround topic I shared above. Your other option is to install the updated driver for the HD520 and use that instead until you have a better solution. In many laptops the external display connector will only offer the discrete GPU but using the built-in laptop display should allow either one. In Windows Display settings you can set it to whichever one you want.
Also you should upload a log file to trainerdx.com, hit the Share button, and post that link to the log report as well.
yeah, been using the external display to have the large screen. any timelines on if and when zwift will fix this?
No but like many games they have been affected by a Microsoft change, and Microsoft has issued several patch updates trying to resolve it, and Zwift has offered their own workaround, so it seems clear everyone is aware of the issue and working on it.
i’m going to try an older laptop running windows 10 today. although the graphics won’t be as good i’m hoping that i can get through a ride today without a crash. alternatively, spring is coming so maybe its IRL
@John_Zwift the climb hud has an offset error in Titans forward, it exists on multiple routes all in the same area
Titans and French intestine are really bad with this for a while already but no one cares, apparently.
At least at Titans you can easily see where you are, so you can ignore the hud…
Has anyone else seen other riders levelling up to 101 during their rides? I’ve seen it twice so far. I’ve been at level 100 for probably over a year, so I’m not sure how that works. Perhaps the next time I reach a new level, something will actually change? I assume I’m actually closer to level 150 or so. I haven’t kept track.
I was going to post the same. Right now passing through Titans and I see the issue. It’s like 10 secs forward…
Yes, today I was in the 3rd round of Zwift Games and the rider next to me levelled up to 101, I didn’t realise that was possible?
Anyone else notice their XP for riding not adding up. I just did a 30km workout and the rider stat screen said I got 455XP for the ride…. 30km X 20xp is 600xp not 455
If u do a wo, km dont count, its just the workout time. Any chance u did a warmup or dooldown (increasing/decreasing watts) in your wo?
Andreas is right. It was always like this, nothing changed.
Okay thanks, I understand now
Interesting hot take. While the Nintendo wannabe gamification would agree with you, I would also say it’s a training platform but they don’t have to be mutually exclusive.
@John_Zwift it’s doing it on volcano circuit now. Didn’t notice the issue yesterday on the same route. Jacques, no teleports. Last ride I manually selected volcano circuit and ended up riding with Jacques I think pace partners are a cause somehow
@calfzilla Thanks - if it’s not too much trouble, would you mind sharing your session ID from the log when this happens? You’ll find it by searching for “Session ID:” in the Log.txt file created by the game.
I can look at your account for logs, but I want to make sure I’m getting the exact log. We have a couple of ideas now, and with this we should be able to see a pattern and get closer to a solve.
Thanks for your patience, I know this one is annoying.
Session ID for today’s ride, where I picked the Jacques pace partner card from the home screen and had the issue every lap: f2e7f25f-839e-422f-8fc0-9118a2cba4aa
Session ID from two days ago (not yesterday) where I selected the volcano circuit route and ended up riding with the Jacques group and did not see the issue: de5c063f-adc1-4d2a-8203-d7dd9d9de5c3
Happy to help
