Game Update 1.72 [August 2024]

Thanks for this. Am I right that the desert flowers have been killed and instead we have more cracks in the road?
Also - the new bike. Pinarello. Arguably the most unwinning bike in the World Tour.

I’d love to see the Decathlon team bike for a start.

Also - please bring back Spin and Win That was fabulous and super motivating.

Programme on,

Dave.

An update. The flowers reappeared again today.

Thanks for reporting @Od_Avinu! I’ve updated our developer ticket tracking this issue. This has been around for a little while, but can currently only be experienced if you first take the steps to open a route side sheet, then back out of that route and select a workout, and then select a different route (in a different world) for your workout.

Has the steering force field gone ? I did a free ride on Mayan san remo last night and didn’t see it.

Still there, did a race and it was showing in the group

Wonder if it’s only free rides ? I’ll check again tonight …

I saw the limit indicator today on a free ride in Makuri.

I had the steering force field on the alpe today. Other steering issues though, there were a few instances of aggressive right/left back and forth. And then once you steer into a “lane” you stay there literally forever and behavior never gets back to normal auto-steer activity. 10 seconds was too fast to return to center but literally-never is too long.

Seems we really need Zwift to tell us how they intend the game to work with respect to steering, auto-steering, auto-correct with/without draft, etc

My steering device auto-connected today for some reason, I’ve been leaving it not-connected because it always seems to have some random bugs popping up even if I don’t touch the buttons.

“Literally never” for auto-steer is exactly what I want.

We probably need some settings for this - auto-steer off/on, and if on then how long after the last steering input it activates.

Not me. I (and I think most) want normal behavior that functions the same as non-steerers as long as you’ve provided no input, and to return to that same behavior after some duration of no input. We know that 10 seconds is too short. I’ll go out on a limb and state that an hour+ is obviously too long. 2 minutes seems like it would be in the ballpark. But don’t bet on this ever being a user-configurable option given this game’s history.

There’s a variable received from server called maxSecondsSinceLastInputForAutoPilot which appears to be what you are talking about (I don’t have a steering device to confirm), currently its value is 99999.

I bet this is it. I think everyone can agree that 28 hours is a little longer than ideal for this value.

That does seem just a bit excessive.

Well I did a workout which continued as a free ride for the rest of the libby hill party route (badge hunting) and neither during the workout or free ride sections did it show the force field to the left or right while keeping a finger on the steering button.

I was even able to ride on top of other riders, which I didn’t think I could do prior to this update.

I’m using Apple TV btw with the play controls paired through the companion

Steering with play controllers is malfunctioning for me this morning. Forces me to far right with “force field” showing and out of draft. Trying to correct path doesn’t work as soon as I take my hand in left paddle I got straight back to far right. Had to turn them off. After that my avatar behaved more normally but never really seemed able to sit in the draft as I normally would. Oddly, I had steering on yesterday and did not have this problem.

Sounds like malfunctioning controllers. Have you tried recalibrating them?

Thanks, I’ll try that!
