Personally I liked the Jungle as it was, bike changes, etc. I’m not so happy about nerfing it. But I imagine they got endless crap about it. It’s not really a surprise. We’ll see what comes out in Eric’s testing but my guess is there’s probably no reason to change bikes now unless you’re doing the whole circuit.
Still being worked on, but progress is being made on that bug.
I saw some large maroon colored boxes, similar to the black boxes seen previously, just at the base of Epic KOM today. There were about a dozen of them flashing directly on top of my avatar.
I saw the glow of my tron wheels at the top of the screen while going through the snow shed on Epic KOM today.
Solution, multiple lanes, one slow dirt, the other fast paved surface. those who want to slog along on dirt could do so still.
I’m happy about the change, I only use partial jungle to ride ADZ. Unless someone I know is already on ADZ then I join them and U turn to get to the start and then ride the full ADZ.
same as they nerfed PD4.1 with 4.1.1 due to people moaning

Nice to see that this feature continues to get developed. Please finally add the still missing and likely forgotten option to activate “keep together” for small club rides, too. Since it is working for meetups and large public club rides, this cannot be much of an technical issue, all requirments are already in the game. We only need the toggle to activate it on the club rides event page (in the companion app), or any other way to activate “keep together” for club rides for that matter. Thanks!!
Agree - this would be so hopeful!!
Eric just released his official findings.
I’m not fond of the results.
Gravel and MTBs no longer serve any purpose on Zwift.
Truly… serve zero purpose.
Jungle lap times at 4w/kg are now only 15 seconds apart between gravel and road; that cut the time differential down by 75% (edit correction).
Bike swapping on races, is no longer a tactical risk worth taking, because you can’t even swap bikes that fast to begin with.
So that is no longer a function of racing on Zwift… which usually required research and reconning to see if it was worthwhile.
So I beg the question to ZHQ, why do we even have different bikes anymore, if these gaps are all going to be shut down to zero difference?
Why even give different aero and weight differences, if gaps like this are being shut down to nothing year after year?
It’s the same situation as the Meilensteins all over again. Everyone worked hard climbing ADZ to get them, only for them to be replaced by the mid-level Roval Alpinists.
At this point, just give everyone the ConceptZ1 bike and remove everything else…
Especially if you can’t be bothered to add anything new in terms of wheels and frames for over a year.
And Aaron said what matters too.
What about group rides where a rider is too fast; we can no longer ask them to swap to gravel or MTB, because those won’t slow them down anymore.
Those bikes were used to allow faster folks to ride with slower riders.
THEY SERVED A PURPOSE.
Now that purpose was ripped out of the code…
Why couldn’t you have just freaking replaced the road surface with asphalt ZHQ?
Had to go and ruin an entire aspect of the game.
Can you elaborate on the HUB / 10Hz change? If you have a compatible Hub, Kickr etc and 10hz Race Mode enable, how often does it update on instant or 3 second average settings?
I guess the change to the rubber-banding feature for group rides does not imply that you can recommend its use in group rides now? I assume the odd dynamics in rubber-banded rides still persist?
Asking for a club that would very much like to use the rubber band for group rides again.

Suddenly your garage is filled up with a lot more junk
I do agree.
Totally dumbed down the game.
I’m still annoyed that PD4.1 became 4.1.1 just because the masses moaned and this is more of the same.
Guess it goes back to “fun is fast”
We are now at the point where all bikes / wheels may as well perform exactly the same and only be cosmetic skins like in other games.
Now you have made loads of my garage redundant can we at least have the ability to remove stuff.
I guess Zwift subscribes to the same problem management theory as Strava: If someone is complaining, don’t come up with a solution, just remove the thing entirely. Instead of making it easier to bikeswap, creating alternative (paved) routes etc, they just essentially removed an entire aspect of their product because it was generating noise.
All - please note.
its pretty frustrating
I think that gravel bikes still serve a purpose for a race on Jungle Circuit (maybe Serpentine 8, Handful of Gravel)? The Crux in ZI tests seemed a few seconds faster than tron on dirt, you just have to have a course that is entirely dirt with no bike swaps (which take too long now).
Bike swaps were kind of fun. I like the lanes idea better, but ah well.
Which, instead of bringing is Gravel Mountain… all we have is the Jungle loop and that climb on Makuri.
That’s my primary issue with this. Now we just have another pile of bikes that don’t serve much purpose.
Instead of paving or giving access to ADZ without going through dirt or the like, they just ruined all of the bikes instead.
So even if we did get Gravel Mountain, it almost wouldn’t make sense to use a gravel or MTB, because the road bikes would be nearly as fast…
A year ago during Zwift Academy we were auto switched to TT and Gravel bikes… Instead of expanding this feature; they just removed the whole concept of bike swapping entirely; and along with it, a rather huge portion of Zwift’s worlds that they’ve been working on over the past year; not to mention all of the most recent released bikes (from a year ago)
(and as mentioned earlier; now limits faster riders from joining slower group rides, which IMO is a massive dealbreaker)
I mean would it not have been easier to convert certain Watopis Dirt sections to be Makuri Sand ? ie Tarmac with an alternative look.
Not Sad in the sense of I remember the Jungle when it was Tarmac that looked like Dirt, so this is a return to the old days
Mixing CRR sections has another issue too, who does the mixed surface routes in Makuri, unless badge hunting ?
Some lovely dirt tracks that effectively no one rides.
