should have gone with wingdings
I just rode a hour with Constance. I like the new font. It looks refreshing and sleek. To me the old one looked fat / blocky / outdated. Glad it got Mullered. Great job Zwift. @James_Zwift @shooj
IIRC, Zwift always used proportional spacing in numbers (at least for the last couple of years since I joined) so that more significant digits are always shifted left and right by changing widths of less significant digits. Iâve been always midly bothered by these shifting digits, but with this new font, I think itâs more noticeable, and more bothersome.
Iâm not calling for switching to monospaced font entirely, but if you develop a new font purely used for user interface, shouldnât you at least consider adapting tabular spacing? That is, all the digit characters have a uniform width.
Thanks
I do not like the new font. Why would Zwift yse a font that is less clear and more vague, especially given the figures can change quickly and so you need to read quickly. This doesnt seem very inclusive to what i am sure is a large community of users who have any vision impairment. Surely inclusivity in the platform should be a priority? Please reverse the font or make it user choice.
Thanks, I was convinced itâs always moved about like that but couldnât be arsed to check.
Not sure if it is related to this update but not seen it before but I had the message saying âConnection Disconnectedâ (which is a bafflingly weird phrase in itself!) but nothing was disconnected.
If it briefly drops and reconnects does the message remain? Thatâs all I can think it was.
Iâve had this too, rarely, but it has happened. I suspect it is a brief drop of my wifi connection, but I never see the other riders disappear or anything like that⌠then the message goes away (or I close it with the X).
yeah, sounds like the same as what I saw.
I donât always have a mouse handy but luckily I did today so was able to close it.
New font is A-ok with me.
It used to be that the âConnection Disconnectedâ with banner/shaded box across entire screen was Wi-Fi/data network disconnect and the same message in smaller box upper left relates to our sensors. When the feature first came out, the one message covered both scenarioâs which was even more uninformative so they split it.
I do get the sensor related one occasionally when I faff around while on home screen (and not peddling), but only from my cadence sensor - all others stay connected.
The font looks like the font a 3rd grader would choose for their PowerPoint presentation
Yes but you just ruined her by making her 10kg heavier.
It reminds me of a font they might have used in the TV series âSpace 1999â, which first aired in 1975. Iâve no idea what they actually used back then, but i donât like the new style at all. A change that literally nobody asked for. Itâs just goofy.
yes, the font is very 1970s futuristic, I like it !
Think there is an arguement for the numbers to be monospaced, but itâs fine as it is for me (as a unix command line vet).
In more gerneal terms all UIs need to have an accessibility option(s) for (eg) partially sighted & common colour blindness variants spring to mind, but this is a way bigger issue then Zwift, who need to deal with adaptive cyclists far more urgently.
I would have to agree. I understand the new font for maybe branding purposes, but from a design perspective, that should probably be limited to use in headings. Using this font throughout is just plain difficult to read quickly. I defy anyone to take a document, switch to this new font and try to quickly extract the information being communicated. To me this is a step backward. Itâs so bad that on a recent chatty group ride, I just couldnât keep up because the font is just plain harder to read and I was starting to get a headache, and inevitably had to turn off the heads up display.
Zwift, I beg you to please revert back or at least use a font that is easier to read.
Throwing in my 2 cents regarding the font. My font display setting used to work. Now, with the new font I am going to have to make my entire phone font smaller if I donât want this yucky lineup. AND! I have to stop and think whenever I look at the game to ensure I am seeing a 1 vs a 7. Why fix something that isnât broken?
V1.28.1 crashed on MacOS 10.14.6
After the Zwiftupdate from 1.27 to 1.28.1 Zwift crashes constantly on my iMac. Either the graphics freeze, but the simulation continues to run (as seen in the Companion APP) or the graphics of the entire Mac freeze or the entire MAC freezes and can no longer be operated.
Zwift runs here for 2.5 years on the same MAC up to version 1.27 without problems.

I like the new font but can certainly see why it divides opinion. For me the jumping around of alignment would get distracting.
The new font, after using it for a bit has grown on me, but its still needs work on spacing.
One thing Iâve noticed, is the very poor antialiasing on ATV4K on the new font and logo, compared to my laptop (both at 1080) and also the image bitmaps resolution on the home screen is shocking! the Academy Road banner looks like its 320x240px and been stretched.
