Feature Suggestion: "Real Effort" Mode for Zwift Workouts**

As a dedicated Zwifter, I often encounter the challenge of incorporating all-out efforts into structured workouts. While the current Free Ride option allows for flexibility, terrain dynamics like downhills can hinder a true maximum effort.

I propose a new “Real Effort” Mode, designed specifically for segments requiring all-out intensity. This mode would:

  • Lock terrain effects, providing a consistent flat or slight incline simulation.
  • Fix baseline resistance while allowing riders to exceed the set power for true maximum efforts.
  • Offer real-time feedback on metrics like average and peak power to optimize pacing.

This feature would enhance high-intensity training and make Zwift workouts even more effective for riders of all levels.

Isn’t that the effect that turning ERG mode off and trainer difficulty to 0 would have?

That is, your targets would still be shown but you could exceed them at any time.

Or, am I misunderstanding your suggestion?
