Favorite/least favorite sections of Zwift roads

That’s something I hadn’t considered, fair point. Particularly if someone has a giant screen and fuller immersion. I don’t mind those roads myself. In fact, I like New York a lot more than my riding would suggest. I should ride there more often. Wish they had more sprint segments.

I wholeheartedly disagree. The Temple KOM is like the one place in all of Makuri that is steep at all, above 100ft gain / mile. It is therefore good :smile:
I very much like both sides of the Epic KOM. They just hit the spot for climbing, steep but not too steep. Same goes for Innsbruck KOM.
I also find myself liking Scotland and Volcano circuit surprisingly much.
Same on NYC @Tom_J I need to use it more. It’s not a good place on a recovery day, but it definitely is a good racecourse/adventure course… and would be that moreso if it was in Watopia :grinning:

You mean like the rumoured bypass that appears only for those who have completed 365 laps of ADZ in a year. :wink:

You’ll have to do 365x ADZ in a year to find out if it’s rumour or not… :cowboy_hat_face:

It’s nice in real life too. But they need that super, super steep climb of 20%+ that is in Innsbruck in real life.

There’s a setting in the config you can changed to make the glass paved. Pretty sure Zwift insider covered all the config options you could change (dont know if thats just limited to PC mind)

It’s a rumour, unless +365 AdZ’s a year disables it again :wink::grin:

Favourite so far (only just started on the app though) Hilly Loop in Watopia… fair gets the HR up and the KOM is a good pull.

Least favourite so far has to be the underground section in London. What were they thinking there? Also the dead ground in Makuri between the 2 castles. Kinda dull and not much going on.

The reasons you listed aren’t why I’m not a fan. I’m not afraid of long and steep, as the Epic KOM is also a great climb that I love both ways (especially the reverse). The main reason is the dirt, I think. Just makes it go that much slower. I’m not a dirt/gravel hater overall, as it’s fine on flat and descents. But climbing in that stuff just makes it feel like it drags on longer than it should. The jungle climbs feel the same way. I honestly don’t mind riding the gravel road to the Alpe, but getting out of there back to the mainland is a chore.

Speaking of draggy climbs, this past week of Zracing the Flat Route has reminded me I hate those hairpins with the steady 1% grade connecting the fishing village to the road to the Italian villas. Probably because both races I’ve done there, the group decided it’s a great spot to hold 300+ watts for nearly the entire run.
