Sometimes following random people is fine, but in reality when I want to just zone out and watch some zwift (don’t judge!) it would be nice to be able to fan view a robo pacer.
Sometimes I fan view while working – it’s great ambient noise and eye-bleach every one in a while; or sometimes I’ll fan view to test graphics settings that I may have just adjusted and don’t want to ride/stop/ride/stop
As it stands now, you can fan view a Robo-Pacer but you have to first find someone who is in the group then hunt down the robo-pacer in the “Zwifters Nearby” list which can be a big pain
I don’t really use fan view so I may be missing something?
But why don’t you just skip the paired devices (instead of going into just watch), to get into the game just select the RoboPacer ride you wish to follow and this will bring you into the ride right next to the RoboPacer.
That would solve the “finding the robo-pacer” for sure! Depending on the size of the group and the jumble of names it can be annoying to hunt down the pacer but that’s a valid workaround for one of the hurdles. Would just be nice to see the pacers in the zwifter list as a separate, clickable entity either in the companion or just as an option to fan view.
After sleeping on it, this is definitely a pie-in-the-sky and niche feature, I admit.
If you pick whichever pacer is on the hillier route it will be much fewer folks typically, especially the harder pacers on the hilly routes, won’t be hard to find them given the size of their crew is typically smaller
I know it’s not the exact solution you’re looking for, but probably is an ok workaround.
