I have been getting duplicate ZCA notifications on iOS for a couple months now. Can’t recall if it aligns with this Sept update or with iOS 18 but I’m guessing the two might be related. Every single ZCA notification is duplicated.
FWIW I’m only getting one notification for events, which is one more than it had been for a while.
Still duplicate ride on notifications. I think double follow requests too but I’m not sure, that’s been a while.
I am having both duplicate “ride on” notifications and just today I can confirm I also got double follow notifications too. So those are also doubled.
Edit: I am on iPhone OS 17.6.1.

We’re working on fixing the duplicate ZC notifications. Thanks for flagging it up.
Hey there @Andre_Baran @calfzilla @SeattleSauve
We’ve deployed a fix for this issue, so you should not see it any more.
If you do - you may have to log out of the Companion app and log back in.
It worked well today, only getting single notifications now.
@shooj Looks like it’s fixed but I now noticed that I’m not getting the ZCA notifications mirrored to my Mac which is the new macOS 15 functionality. Seems like ZCA is gone from the list on Mac side of which apps to mirror notifications from iPhone. I’m guessing this is part of how the duplicate notifications got fixed? Is this functionality going to return? Mirroring of iPhone notifications is maybe one of the best new features so disappointed to lose it for ZCA.
Hi @Andre_Baran
Thanks for letting us know. For context, have you tried resetting the connections between the Mac and the phone in this Apple Support article?
I’m back to not receiving pre-race notifications.
Hi @shooj
I tried most of this before but I just went through it all again and revoked, restarted, and re-added with the same result as before. All my other notifications work fine it’s just the companion app and to me it’s pretty clear why because when I go on the Mac to Settings > Notifications > Allow notifications from iPhone > (Set On) > and scroll down there is no Companion app to toggle on or off. The Zwift app and all the other apps I’m receiving notifications for on Mac are there. If I go to similar settings on the phone companion notifications are on in iOS and I receive them on the iPhone. Seems like somehow Companion is no longer recognized as a valid app to mirror notifications to macOS.
@Andre_Baran and @calfzilla
Have logged out of Companion and logged back in?
@calfzilla
Wanted to confirm:
For both of you - are you linked to a calendar app on your phone, and if yes - which one?
I am not receiving push notifications from the Companion app on iOS, but only if I don’t have the app running in the background (I force quit apps regularly when I’m not using them). I just tested with Companion open in the background and the notification did come through.
This has been an issue with private races (FRR recently) and Tour of Watopia group rides.
I do not have Companion linked to any calendar apps.
@shooj
No I do not use any calendar app with Zwift Companion.
I just went through and unlinked iPhone connection to Mac again. Then I uninstalled companion app on iOS and then shut down phone and Mac. Then reinstalled companion app on phone, logged in, and then reconnected the phone to the Mac.
Some screenshots below. On the phone side companion notifications are on and ‘Show on Mac’ is enabled. However on the Mac side it doesn’t even see the companion app under notifications from iPhone. Other apps that I have enabled to show on Mac do show up. Zwift app also shows up. Like I said before it showed up and I’d get the double notifications on both phone and Mac. Whatever change you made is somehow preventing the show on Mac to actually sync up on the Mac side of things.
Correction to my last post. I have the companion going in the background and did not get any notification for this morning’s FRR race.
The engineers took a look at both of your situations, and we’d like you to look at the way notification toggles are set in the Companion app’s Settings > Notifications tab, and turn them all on for the time being to troubleshoot.
@Andre_Baran
In your case - there’s a complication because it looks like you have the Companion app installed on more than one phone (or tablet?) - please confirm? These settings take effect per device (not per account). If you have toggles set differently on more than one device, notifications will not work the same way. We advise you to run the Companion app on one smartphone to prevent this conflict.
@calfzilla
How do you have this toggle set?
In addition to that setting in ZC, please also check this setting in iOS and allow Companion to access its calendar.
All the settings you have shown are set as you’ve requested (and have been). My event reminder is set to always, 60 minutes. No calendars.
@shooj
I’m running companion app from a single iPhone. Not sure if the reinstall in last few days is showing as separate installs on your end? A while back I did install ZCA on an iPad but without proper UI it was a mess and I uninstalled and haven’t used that in a long while.
I have two Macs that I routinely run zwift app on, all Macs and phone on same iCloud account and so they are all linked. I have phone linked to both Macs and previously during the double ZCA notifications I’d get the double-notifications on both Macs.
I did have some items toggled off in ZCA > Settings > Notifications. I toggled everything on and retested and still when I revoke and relink phone to Mac I do not see Companion app in the ‘Mirror iPhone Notifications’ list in Mac > Notifications > Notifications from iPhone list.
FWIW iPhone is running 18.1 (iPhone 15 Pro) and macOS is running 15.1 (Mac Studio M1 Max).
edit: forgot to add thanks a lot for you and your team’s support on this.
I was zwifting tonight and just saw a ZCA notification come through on the Mac. Not sure if something in the background was fixed or if the fix came as part of 3.63.0 but I’m now seeing the ZCA notifications from iPhone on Mac, thanks!
