Please can anyone help with advice. I did the Galaxy group ride today and had 3 major drop-outs causing me to get dropped by the group and be unable to recover and having to complete the ride on my own.
First drop-out occurred approximately 10 mins after the start; everything seized up, no movement on the screen or the companion app, lasted approx 30 secs. When everything re-started I had been dropped from being at the front of the pack to being out the back and some distance behind. I did manage to struggle back and get on the back of the pack again but as I did a second drop-out occurred lasting around 1 min. When it eventually re-started again the pack/group had long gone.
While I was riding on my own the same thing happened a 3rd time, again about 1 min. I completed the rest of the ride on my own without any further drop-outs.
Looking at the data afterwards both on Zwift and Strava there was no clear sign/ indication that any of the drop-outs had happened.
I use a Wahoo Kickr which is linked direct by cable to my laptop. The laptop is linked by cable to the router. Only cadence and HR monitors are Bluetooth. We have very fast fibre internet connection.
I do seem to get regular drop-outs most weeks but never as many as this and for these durations.
Any thoughts/suggestions as to what the problem might be.
Hey @A_V_O_3351,
Thanks for posting! Jose here from Zwift support.
That sounds super frustrating. I know how tough it is to get separated from the pack when your game freezes up. I am glad to help with that.
I checked your event log and saw multiple disconnections, likely due to interference, which could be causing the issue. See the image below:
To help troubleshoot, I recommend checking out this article—it goes over common signal interference problems and how to fix them. Since you’re using an ANT adapter, this Zwift Insider article might also be useful—it covers the most frequent reasons for ANT dropouts and what to do about them.
If the issue sticks around after trying those steps, feel free to reply here or reach out to us directly. We’re happy to help!
Hope you’re back riding smoothly soon!
