digital panel image in front of the bikes

Hello I just started this week with Zwift. 

What is the glowing “digital panel” image (i.e. it kind of looks like a windshield in front of the bikes) we see in front of some of the bikes? Thank you!

Those folks showing the panel are in workout mode I believe.

You are correct Allie. Also, the color of the panel changes according to the difficulty of the interval with red being the toughest (above FTP).
