Difference in Watts between Zwift and my Powertap Gen3

Is it typical for Zwift to display a difference in watts/power than my PowerTap power meter? I am noticing wide difference the two. I am riding a Seven Alaris with HED Belgium II Clinchers with a PowerTap Gen3. I am using a Wahoo Kickr Snap trainer. I’m new to Zwift and wondering why the difference.

Are you pairing the snap trainer as the power source? The difference you are likely seeing is between the two sources of power. The snap is not as accurate being a wheel on trainer, lots of variables can affect the power numbers. You should use the powertap power meter instead.

I believe so. When starting Zwift for the first time, I paired the PowerTap Gen3 and my PowerCal heart rate monitor to the Kickr Snap. When doing a Zwift workout like a FTP Ramp Test, I should be using the powertap power numbers and not Zwift calculated power. Correct?

If you choose the powertap when pairing all your sensors then it will use the power meter. Zwift takes the power reported by the source, it doesn’t calculate it unless you are using an old non-power trainer with a speed sensor. You don’t have that.

Just make sure you are pairing the correct power source when you start Zwift.

Is there a way to check if I got everything paired up correctly?

Yeah it shows you on the pairing screen what is connected… if under power it says wahoo then you have it wrong.

Thanks…
Thanks

I now remember it says powertap when the pairing screen starts.
