plenty nah it’s starting to get old but it should not have problem with a newer modern crisp program that’s using some modern graphics like dx11\12\vulkan

hey zwift HQ !!
Khronos Group called from the 90’s and wanted their open gl back and they said somthing better came 2016 Vulkan

 :joy: Thanks for that!

I updated by system with an RX 6800 XT and with current 22.3.2 drivers I cannot ride Watopia anymore. It freezes directly after hitting the “Let’s go” button. France, Paris and Yokshire I could ride without any issues. This sh** is so annyoing.

you are using a modified driver to get more fps in tiny tina´s wonderland game (22.3.2)
use instead 22.3.1 Recommended (WHQL) tested by microsoft

I get this issue with both 22.3.1 and 22.3.2. The game freezes around 4 seconds after entering a world as the other assets load in. Occassionally I can make it work by putting in compatibility mode for Windows 8, but even then I still get freezes.

Is there a list of drivers that Zwift is actually compatible with?

I am having the same issue. 6800XT

I’ve tried 4 different AMD driver versions and all are crashing.

If i uninstall all AMD software the game runs fine.

One thing I have noticed - when loading into the route Sand and Sequoias Zwift will crash immediately. If riding around the volcano then it won’t crash.

@Cosmo_Kramer1

Hey, I’m having the same issue, haven’t tried your route but for me it crashes as so soon as I open ‘Triple Flats Loop’.

So for you is enough to uninstall radeon software? Meaning the driver is still there, just not the software? That’s not the end of the world for me, I could do that.

‘Triple Flats Loop’ and ‘Sand and Sequoias’ have the same starting spot in the desert.

I think so - I just removed the AMD Radeon Software from control panel.

@Cosmo_Kramer1

Thanks, would you mind checking what driver version appears in the device manager?

I uninstalled AMD software, I had driver version 30.0.15021.1001 before the uninstall and 30.0.13025.5005 after but the problem is still the same.

Good morning, as the original poster of this issue I am sad to report it appears to have returned. I most recently encountered this on the new “downtown titans loop” near the fork in the road to head to Titans Grove.

I am going to Zwift on the ipad this afternoon to see if it happens there, but as it is near identical to what was happening before I imagine the iPad. I will post back this evening.

@Michael_Fulton Could you also check ‘Triple Flats Loop’ please? For me, it crashes a couple of seconds (maybe up to a minute sometimes) after I open that route. You don’t even have to pedal.

It feels silly, it’s been half a year, and there isn’t even an official reason for this yet. I’ve not had any other software crashing on AMD.

Crashes about 5 seconds after you load into the world when picking “Triple Flats Loop”

Sand and Sequoia - crashes about 7 seconds after loading into the world
Triple Flats - crashes about 7 seconds after loading into the world
Downtown Titans - crashes just before fork in the road to turn right into Titans Grove
Ocean lavaside cliffs - In Oct 2021, game would crash near the start when you first start going up the road. April 2022 does not appear to be crashing there.
Tik Tok - Followed Coco cadence in spectator. Crashed in multiple places along the route.
Note: It might be best to just avoid titans grove/desert area altogether if your having this problem at the moment.
Volcano flats - this loops appears to be safe.
Three Sisters Route - Appears to be good.

Based upon my very not scientific review, it looks like titans grove/desert area seem to be source of current crashes (my experience).
“old watopia” IE the volcano, kom and original mountain appear to be crash free.

Could/Could not be related but when i tried to update my driver this morning i got an error stating Windows was blocking the driver install. Perhaps something changed with amd recently? Anyone else who had this zwift crashing issue also getting a driver update error by chance?

I am gonna spectate a bit on some riders to see if its also crashing in some of the places it was crashing in October 2021 when I first reported this. Updates to come throughout the day

@Lauren Last update from Zwift was in December, has there been any progress on this?

Yes, issue accourse again frequently. I cannot ride Watopia. So sad that Zwift is not able to fix it. This company is happy to take our money but does not care on customer issues.

@Lauren could you please give us the status on the bug report which you mentioned 5 Month ago?

I’ve cancelled my subscription yesterday, I hope more people do. Zwift lists compatibility with Windows, not Windows on Nvidia so it should work.

Lack of involvement from Zwift makes the problem even worse. I can deal with paying for a subscription despite not being able to ride, that’s the cost of trying new things. But their team sent me on a wild goose chase, creating firewall rules, windows defender exceptions etc. I’ve wasted hours on this. Hopefully someone will be able to derail their position as a market leader and they will have to start listening.

You are right. AMD is officially supported but in fact this issue is now in the game since almost one year. Zwift does not care!

Playing devil’s advocate - I believe it is more AMD than Zwift problem.

None of the linked posts have anything to do with the issue we see here and btw do you really believe that a Nvidia card is never crashing in a game? If so you must be very naive. I play plenty of games. My RX 6800 XT never has any issues or crashes. Only Zwift with the stone age OpenGL implementation causes problems.
