Connecting Zwift cog

I have a tacx flux 2 trainer can I use a Zwift cog and click?

Hi @Rory_McDonnell welcome to Zwift forums.

Shuji at Zwift HQ here. The Tacx Flux 2 trainer is not on our list of trainers that are capable of virtual shifting.

Virtual shifting requires that the trainer use firmware that supports it. Garmin has not released firmware for the Tacx Flux series trainers as they have for the Tacx Neo series trainers. You may want to ask Garmin about it on their support forum.

@shooj any news on when the cog will be back in stock..? Thanks.

i second this question….. also we can use the cog with zwift play correct?

Yeah the cog works well with the play controllers…:+1:

The cog is really just a cog (with adjustable chainline in the v2 edition). It plays no role in virtual shifting. Any cog that works with your chain will do, and virtual shifting works with or without the cog.

Agreed, only issue I have is I’m going to need to swap bikes on the trainer. 10 speed to 12 speed & back. Whilst I assume/hope that a 12 speed chain will run on a 10 speed cassette, this is all so much easier with the cog, as you can adjust the chain line & so on. Its not the end of the earth but life would be easier with a cog just now.

If only they’d restock it!

Presently on Zwift’s website, they have the following options when ordering a Cog for Wahoo trainers -
KICKR CORE
KICKR MOVE
KICKR V6
Other

I may be missing something, but I don’t see how that would matter. Don’t they all use the same style freehub?

The goal is to prevent people from accidentally buying it for any Wahoo trainer that isn’t a Core/Move/V6

Now that makes perfect sense!
