I was able to create custom workouts (.ZWO) files using Claude AI
but had trouble figuring out how to get those to show up in my iPad. Here’s my journey on using Claude to create custom .ZWO workouts and then getting them to my iPad.
Claude has a Zwift connector, but not Garmin. Just ask Claude to connect to Zwift and enter your Zwift login credentials. Claude evaluated my activities and fitness level by reviewing my last 100 Zwift activities. (You’ll need to give Claude a time frame / range for activity review.) Claude asked me what my training goals were and voila! Structured 4-Week Progressive Block Workout created and ready for .ZWO file import from Claude to PC to iPad!

This is where the hard part of the process was in trying to get these .ZWO files to my iPad started. ![]()
Claude actually didn’t help here as it’s suggestions proved futile. I’ve since given Claude the answers found after searching through the Zwift forum and found this article entitled, “Importing_Custom_Workouts_Today’s_Plan_or_TrainingPeaks”. (You cannot paste URL’s into these forum replies, so just search for that title.) Alternatively, I’ve copied/pasted both the Mac and PC instructions here for easy reference:
Importing from .zwo Files (Mac/PC )
Imported workouts are available on all devices after restarting Zwift. Files larger than 64 KB are only available on the computer used for import.
Mac
- Copy the .zwo file.
- Open Finder.
- Go to Documents > Zwift > Workouts.
- Open your Zwift ID folder (numeric).
- Paste the file into the folder.
PC
- Copy the .zwo file.
- Locate the Z icon in the notification area of the taskbar.
- If needed, select ˄ to show hidden icons.
- Right-click the Z icon and select Open Logs Folder.
- In the file path, select Zwift.
- Select Workouts.
- Open your Zwift ID folder (numeric).
- Paste the file into the folder.
I followed the above PC instructions and successfully imported the .ZWO files to my PC! Afterwards, the workouts showed up in the PC Zwift app under Workouts > Custom but not immediately on my iPad. ![]()
As a last ditch effort, I figured I’d reboot my iPad and relaunched Zwift and then the custom workouts were synched!
