Change W/kg to live rider speed

Showing riders w/kg in the right hand side of the screen isn’t very useful as unless you know the rider or can check their weight during an event or race you’ve no idea what w/kg you require to catch a rider or group.

If w/kg was changed to live speed then you would know if it is possible to catch rider / group based on their and your current speed based on the effort you are required to maintain.

Simple example I weigh 56kg if the nearest rider to myself is showing 4 w/kg and he weighs 80kg then the chances of myself catching is very low and I would waste several minutes targeting 4.5 - 5 w/kg with no real idea if it is possible to catch him however if his live speed was showing for example 40 kmh then I would quickly know if I can go faster and at an effort I can maintain for x minutes.

I’m also a light rider (though not as light as you) - I think the w/kg is useful to know when someone is putting a big effort (you see it the w/kg change).

As for everything like this, having this information configurable by the user so everyone can have what they prefer would be nice.

I think that would only be useful if the road was dead flat and there were no other factors involved. I use Source for Zwift and have it configured to show the speed of each group but still use Zwift’s w/kg rider list too. Best of both worlds.

Seconds gained or lost while chasing are the best indicator.

Or perhaps could be, if the time gaps were accurate. But often they are wildly off.

Speed is what TPV shows there instead of w/kg as well, I think they also had some arguments about deemphasizing rider weight in the UI. I guess you can’t see as clearly when someone launches a wattage bomb as soon as possible, but other than that (and there are certainly also other ways to communicate that in the UI), it has seemed to work pretty well there, also for racing.
