Hi, just after a bit of feedback from anyone who may have something to offer.
I have the OG Neo 1, it’s never missed a beat in around 7 years. However, I am experiencing my gears jumping and I’ve tried so much to resolve it, hanger alignment, new shifters, cassette, derailleur and I can’t figure out what it is (been going on years). It’s ok for workouts but a pain in racing where I can’t use all sprockets on the cassette.
With the current discount on the Kickr Core with virtual shifting, I’m tempted to sell the OG Neo on eBay and get the Kickr with virtual shifting.
Just wondered if anybody with experience between Neo/Kickr or just using virtual shifting generally (I never tried it) could offer an opinion.
In the UK at least, at the moment Neo 2T’s are ‘on sale’ too. A Neo is never cheap but I’m a huge fan of my 2T, I have also had a Kickr prior to this. I’ve just started using virtual shifting & its great, took a few days to not reach for the gears but I think I’m past that now.
I was on a Neo 2 for 4+ years and yeah great trainer never had an issue with it and zero maintenance. Move to zwift ride with the core which i really like the virtual shifting.
I do still have the neo and they have recently come out with virtual shifting for the Neo 2 onwards so tempted to try it again or just keep it as backup but i think you would enjoy the move to virtual shifting.
I can’t offer anything about Kickr Core, but there seem to be some people having issues (search the forum). My experience with Neo 1 (bought second hand) for 5 years and now Neo 2 second year (and with virtual shifting now) I would never change.
