Campagnolo Ekar 13s and Zwift Cog

Hello,

can anybody tell me if the Campag Ekar 13spd chain works with the zwift cog??

I already use a zwift cog and am thinking of buying a bike with Ekar 13spd. However compatability with the zwift cog is a must for me

Thanks in advance!

Doubtful, but I don’t have an Ekar bike to check so perhaps someone who owns one can say. Official word is 8-12 speed.

If you’re not switching back and forth between outdoors and indoors from day to day, you could just use a wider chain for indoors though, the Ekar crank certainly won’t mind (plus you can get a reusable 13s Campagnolo quick link for the Ekar chain).

This… or you may want to ask around the campy bike forums out there. Is there a chance you could replace the stock Cog with an ekar cog? That said, I have no idea if you can buy such a thing. While I know you can’t mount a full ekar cassette on a campy standard freehub, I don’t know if this also means you can’t get a single cog onto a standard campy freehub.

Hey, thanks for the input.
The idea of having a designated wider chain for indoors is not such a bad idea.

However, I do switch back and forth a bit.

Anyone have a 13spd chain that they could measure the internal width of for me? I’ve googled about, but no success on that dimension

GPLama has a video up on his YouTube channel where he measures the Zwift cog to 1.72mm (scroll to about the 3min point of the video). Spoiler alert: It’s too wide for the Ekar chain … BUT you can switch the cog if you can find something narrow enough.

Hey, thatnks heaps for that tip!
Seeing how simple the zwift cog is, I could just buy a 14t ekar cog and put it on.
…or just machine down the zwift cog a few tenths of a mil on the lathe at work
