After upgrading to Windows 11, my old ANT USB m-stick will not upgrade drivers, so it is useless now picking up my garmin cadence and heart monitor, and my bluetooth doesn’t want to pick up my garmin cadence and heart monitor. Is there a cadence and heart monitor that easily pairs over bluetooth with Windows 11 and latest Zwift version please? Thanks!
Older Garmin HRMs and cadence sensors do not support Bluetooth but all the current ones do so if you like Garmin you could replace them with more Garmin products, but there are loads of good Bluetooth HRMs and cadence sensors out there and even the cheap ones (eg, Coospo, Moofit) work fine with Zwift. If you want a really nice HRM, look at Polar. I can’t think of a reason to buy a top-shelf cadence sensor other than getting better support if you need it. If that’s appealing I would look at Garmin or Wahoo cadence sensors.
Thanks so much!! Very grateful for prompt and thorough feedback. I’ll purchase new ones (old ones are over 10 and 20 years old) and pray my Bluetooth picks them up to ride on! Thanks again.
Are you using your PC’s Bluetooth? You can everywhere read “10m reach” for BLE, but it depends…
An USB Bluetooth dongle placed so near as possible to your trainer is very often the solution for BLE connection.
Thanks for the reply. Yes, and you are correct. I think my devices are too old and will get newer ones that should work fine. Appreciate the response!
Have a look at what your smart trainer might offer. My last two (JetBlack Victory and Wahoo Kickr Core 2) have supported sensor bridging and so allowed me to continue using my very old ANT+ Garmin HRM despite my Windows 11 laptop not having an ANT+ dongle.
Thanks so much! I purchased the Wahoo Tickr heart monitor and wahoo cadence sensor at my local bike shop called Pedal Power (who are great to deal with!) and my bluetooth picked them up no problem, no need for the ANT anymore. Appreciate all the help everyone! Ride on!
