Buttons to Rideon individual friends are missing [March 2025] [3.67]

There seems to be an issue with the update - at least on my phone:

On the start screen at the top there is a field showing some names of friends just zwifting and a Ride On button to give a Ride On to all those friends at once. If you tap on that field it opens a list of all my Zwift friends currently riding. Usually there is a Ride On button for each of those friends so I can decide to give a Ride On person by person. Since the update those buttons are always unavailable.

I am aware that this behavior is to be expected if I had given a Ride On to all of the friends at once on the start screen. But the Ride On buttons are unavailable now, even if I have not used the Ride On button on the start screen.

Is it just me or is it a general (new) issue?

Is this on iOS or Android? I am using iOS and not having this issue.

I have a phone with Android 15.

I’m seeing the same thing - Android 15.

If I tap on someone’s name and open up the details then it does let me send them a Ride On from the details screen, just not from that initial list. And bizarrely, once I’ve given them a Ride On from the details screen, the Ride On button reappears on the list screen.

Ha, yes, same here, but the Ride On buttons only (re)appear in the current riders list after having given a Ride On on the details page if I reload the list page.

After having given it another thought, it might not be the update, it might be an issue with Android 15. The update might have been coincided with me buying a new phone with Android 15 which I did some days ago.

I don’t think that’s it. I’ve had Android 15 for a while and this problem only just appeared.

It is not an Android 15 issue. It is the same on my old phone with Android 13.

I started a thread about this a coupla days ago: Companion App not putting Ride-Ons up for Friends Correctly

If you click on the Ride-On button on the front page and then go to the friends page, reload a coupla times, then you can click on individual friends and give them Ride-Ons one at a time. The buttons are inverted: illuminated if you’re given them a Ride-On and not if you haven’t. Not as convenient but sorta workable. Doesn’t work well if you’re in a race or hard workout…

When I go into the ZCA during Zwift events or outside of riding Zwift, the list of Zwift Friends doesn’t allow Ride-Ons to be given. If I go back to the front page and hit the bomb button then go to the friend page, sometimes it will show buttons to give R-O’s individually. Or not. This is a recent development; a coupla-three days or so. I’ve updated ZCA so it’s not that…

This problem appears to be fixed in Companion 3.68.
