This article is hilarious. Absolutely hilarious.
@Chris_Snook months on and you haven’t kept to your promise, yet you have the cheek to say the community acted in the wrong way with the #FreeLuciano fiasco?
Embarrassing.

What a puff piece… should be marked as a paid for advertisement… Much like the road.cc article.
Pieces like that burying heads in sand do little for the reputation of E-cycling and zwift.
With all apologies here to Chris and Andrew, who I thought gave a few good and considered responses…
The UCI. Credibility.
Possibly the best thing about FIFA is that it makes the UCI look good when it comes to integrity.
Absolute joke. It’s exactly what we all thought, a token gesture because they were embarrased into action, and this about a bounty program was nothing but a means to try and shut everyone up and save face. Naming and blaming him too, it’s actually pitiful.
On the basis of that I think more people should publicise cheats and exploits. Completely ruin what little credibility the sport has, why not.
That’s a very valid point, blaming Lucian for the cheating issues and his banning is an interesting take.
Some might suggest it’s gas lighting… Raise our faults in public and it’s your fault if you get banned.
“It highlighted problems”
oh no poor little billion dollar Zwift
Sorry to not make my posts about Zwift, but…UCI credibility
Credibility
"The riders may feel that Zwift is closed off. It’s always helpful, and Zwift is receptive to the racer’s concerns. Riders are always welcome to raise their concerns, and Zwift wants to work with them. It’s always more beneficial to work together than fight against one another.
The Free Luciano issue created a lot of hot air and only made things worse. It highlighted problems and helped cheaters find new ways to be deceptive. "
This cheat had been reported to Zwift and WTRL says they had known about it for 2 years.
Zwift is trying to rewrite history here and it’s absolutely pathetic.
So cringe I might watch some Inbetweeners to unfurl my face.
it’s extra hassle for community race organisers and i like most of them
Ironically, a real bug bounty program does help a company control the release of vulnerability data. But a non-existent bug bounty program provides no leverage at all.
@Chris_Snook : next time you want to write a comedy piece, give me a call, I have written some better ones for ZI. My basic answer attached. Where is the bug bounty program!!! When are you going to answer to such a basic question instead of multiplying gaslighting and gish gallop techniques to avoid to address the root issues? I took a leap of faith back in march stepping back to avoid additional exposure, and I wrote to @Eric that I would not want to be manipulated or lied to, that I counted on the fact that he was being serious in his commitment. He confirmed. I take the word of an executive very seriously, I believe trust is the main currency of human relationships. But the more time goes by and the more I am convinced that the only way to get improvement is to actually publish all the cheating techniques I have been made aware of since February. And believe me, there are tons. Many of us know and are exchanging about it. All documented and protocolized like the weight cheating one. Many of them already reported to you and you have been doing nothing about it. Please, don’t oblige me to have to go public again.
If we only had club races, then it wouldn’t mat…
Oh wait.
So you’d better organise events where you have important amounts of cheaters turning the blind eye on it and pretending you are owning a fair competition than actually solving the root cause? This is a real question. Because I agree with you. I agree that most races should directly be pure entertainment, so in reality the performance factor is not important. Where is the threshold? A category? B category? When is the competition element of zwifting more important than the entertaining one? When is fast becoming more important than fun? However, those races UCI stamped, which Zwift claims are fair races, and all the flagship ones… they should be closely controlled. Last point. I believe even more in the diligence of the team managers, to implement basic rules of transparency and educate riders to be fair. But for that we need a walk the talk at top level at Zwift. Clearly not the priority.
it’s just my personal view, i’m not a moral authority. zwift staff left me personally feeling cold too but community organisers (including wtrl) have and continue to be almost unanimously kind to me throughout the years
I’m fully expecting no response from Zwift on this issue
And the following one was also amusing @Chris_Snook.
Contrary to your statement, by definition, by default Zwift Racing cannot be cleaner than IRL racing. Even if you wanted to. The reason is super easy to understand
In IRL racing most if not almost all of cheating is through performance enhancing drugs. And to cheat technologically you need to create and hide a device actually producing real physical watts. Which is extremely complicated. Virtual watts (,for example miscalibrating you power meter like it is a quite common practice at Zwift) would have zero impact on your IRL performance. For top IRL races and riders, there are tons of antidoping tests and bikes are controlled very regularly. The system is far from perfect I agree, but there is a quite rigorous one, including impromptu visits at your place to have you tested.
In Zwift Racing you only need to manipulate reported watts per kg in order to cheat and have a better performance. Weight is an obvious one, but alteration of you power source is yet another one, and there are dozens of easy ways to do so.
And you know something even better? On top you can still cheat like IRL life too! You can still use performance enhancing drugs (I understand even elite zwift riders are not retested regularly) and you can also use watt producing devices, an ebikes for example, to cheat on Zwift!
So how on earth could you even vaguely suggest Zwift Racing is cleaner!
Please, don’t treat me as more idiot than I actually am.
They are the best. And Zwift makes it super complicated for them. Zwift does not deserve their dedication.
