Boost Mode Race Testing (and feedback) May 6th-8th

Each mode has a specific regenloss value applied, which is similar to the loss you’d get in real life attempting to charge a battery from regenerative braking power.

The values should be displayed in game imo, although doing so would result in everyone picking “efficient”. Not sure I’m allowed to post them here.

You can calculate the figures easily through testing each mode (Bath Salts is pretty close for “balanced”).

Hint: Only choose “power burst” if you plan to use it once at the end or have a huge amount of excess power over fellow riders.

In my opinion some points need to be improved:
1- The course and distance must be informed before the start of the race.
2- The explanation about the use of Boost Mode needs to be improved.
3- At Zwift Companion, charge/boost buttons need to be far apart to avoid confusion when using.
4- Putting the data on paper, for an 85kg rider running at an average power of 300W, the losses due to the extra weight he carries throughout the event are 5.6% in Efficient, 8.1% in Balanced and 10.5% in the Power Burst. The power-to-weight ratio can drop from 3.5W/kg to 3.2W/kg, which represents a drop from Category B to Category C.
