hi, i was wondering what the blue men are in the ride, they don’t have jerseys or name tags, the “close the gap” sometimes come up with them but often they just disappear…
does anyone know what these phantoms are?
These are just automated riders that Zwift has programmed to keep the island a little more lively. Back when the game was released in a really small beta, it was rare that you would run into other real cyclists, so they added these AI riders to add some more action. You can also draft on them like real riders, like you have figured out. My guess is that as more real people join the island, the number of AI riders changes which would explain the disappearing.
