Hi, since last week i have connections issues with my bike. The zwift app won’t see my bike anymore. I did troubleshoothing without success ( try to connect with differents cell phones, tablets; disonnect the other bluetooth at home, reinstall the app). Its not my bike since it works well with whoosh. Today, i notice that i can connect my bike in zwift app as a treadmill?!? Connection is good and stable. Why’s that? What can i do? My bike bluetooth identifier is WLT8828(acsend spinning bike).
Hi @Vivi_L, thank you for reaching out! I’m Gian from Zwift.
I’m sorry to hear that the app is not recognizing your spin bike properly. Thank you for letting us know the troubleshooting steps you’ve tried already.
We have records of other Zwifters who seem to have paired this exact same spin bike successfully today, so this doesn’t appear to be a widespread Zwift-specific issue. If you have made sure that it is not paired with another device or app, I’d recommend contacting the manufacturer to see if it’s possible there is a firmware update for your bike or if they are able to provide insight on this problem.
If the issue persists, please reach out to us so we can continue troubleshooting this with you.
Vivi, it seems you’re having the exact same problem I had a few days ago with my Ascend S2 bike. I wanted to jump on Zwift and give it a go but, same as you, the bike would connect to Zwift only as a treadmill. I had to contact Ascend directly: they directed me to update the monitor (through their website).
That fixed that problem of connecting to Zwift as a bike. Once connected though, the resistance changes that Zwift should induce aren’t interpreted correctly by the bike and makes training virtually impossible. I’ve posted on the forum yesterday and am still trying to figure this all out. Odds are I’ll be returning the bike if I can’t get it working soon. This bike should not be marketed as compatible with Zwift.
