Ambassador Buddy System?

So the game is awesome, the user interface sometimes less than intuitive.

I’m new here. It would be awesome to have a system of users, or a topic or forum, set up for new users to ask dumb questions that are not obvious from he FAQ.

Like:
am I on zwiftpower or do I need to sign up separately?
What is a spawn point?
Lead in?
Where is the elevation map? Why does it go back and forth. Is it for my route or just this road.
What is the multicolored thing on the bottom that looks like an elevation map but doesn’t match the hills?
How do I u-turn?
What can’t I just select another course?
Do I select a name to give a ride on or just punch it near the person I’m trying to ride on.
And related, Is xxxx a bug or a a feature(!)

Beginner here too, but I’ll give it a try (somebody more knowledgeable can complete):

am I on zwiftpower or do I need to sign up separately?

It’s a separate process, check their site. Mostly used for people that race

What is a spawn point?

The location where you pop into the game

Lead in?

The distance from the spawn point to where to route starts

Where is the elevation map?

Upper right hand corner. It’s confusing

Why does it go back and forth

Feature. Something to do with segment directions

Is it for my route or just this road.
Something like “between two intersections”?

What is the multicolored thing on the bottom that looks like an elevation map but doesn’t match the hills?

Sounds like the g-key activated power/HR graph

How do I u-turn?

Click lower middle of screen to bring up action bar and select U-icon

What can’t I just select another course?

Feature

Do I select a name to give a ride on or just punch it near the person I’m trying to ride on.

Easiest to do with the companion app. Or by clicking the person in the list, thumb and return. I rarely do it.

I highly recommend Zwift Insider - https://zwiftinsider.com/ - especially the “Getting Started”, “Tips and Tricks” and “Reference” sections - it’s a brilliant site which has really helped me get the most out of Zwift.
