I have recently started making my way through the 6wk Beginner FTP Builder workout program. I encountered an issue on wk1 session 2 (Strength), when I needed to ramp up from 155w to 465w and maintain 465w for 10 seconds. The issue I had was that due to the length of time it took for zwift to register the increase in watts and on pretty much every occasion I either hit the target in the last 1-2 seconds or I went massively over.
Would it be possible to introduce a feature to allow time to build up to the watt target before the countdown begins, so that you are able to maintain the target for the required duration and therefore get the most out of the specified training?
Apologies if this has been asked before, I couldn’t find the exact question/request.
I have a Tacx Vortex Smart, I have not been using ERG and instead have been going into harder gears in order to get up to the required wattage. I will try using the manual resistance and see if that makes it easier. Thanks for the reply.
So a little update, i’ve switched to using ERG mode and after giving it some time to get used to it I’m finding its allowing me to get to the target watts quickly. I haven’t tried yet on the Strength workout so that will be the real test.
Thanks for the advise, I will take a look at your post now!
