Hi, i know I could do it 1 year ago but not tested since, right now (2025.01.23) can I ? (specifically about a RACE not just a Ride)
Thanks
Providing you start the race with more than approx 1Km of trial left, you should be able to finish the race.
Hi All, and welcome to forums @Michel_VanVynckt
Usually in Zwift, we offer 25 KM per month on the first of each month and these are renewable each month, if the ride you started is within the range of 25 KM without any problem you could complete it.
I share this article for more information on how it works.
Have a great day.
I think I faced this today, as I was riding 24.5km yesterday and today and today just when it reached the 25km it stopped pedaling.
Thanks, I’ve had another person like you (it stopped at 25, he had less than 1km free when starting the session) while for me with 1.5km left, infinite session.
I have 100 METRES left this month, I’ll try myself later !
Just please let me know the outcome. Funny that this is nowhere documented in zwift…
Sorry I screwed up the test ! I had 100m left, I joined a race 58sec before the start (thought plenty of time) but no, landed too late, on a free ride, and instantly zero watts and stopped.
So like said before, “less than 1km” free trial would be a no (99.9% sure), above it’s yes ! !
It crapped out on me during Stage 4 of Zwift Big Spin back on March 24. I had gone for a 15.2 mile ride on the 6th, tried another Big Spin ride on the 24th, & BAM, when I hit 25km I was stuck on an exercise bike going nowhere.
The worst thing is that I’d trained myself to ignore the “subscribe now!” pop-up and finish my ride, but that time I dismissed it and was stuck. I figured the rules had changed and wanted to pay (not that I was happy, as I hadn’t planned to pay, but had put on the Black Bibs & it was too dark to run), but had to drop out of the ride, pay from the main screen, and make it back in. Luckily it happened to me very early in the ride and I had enough time to rejoin the same ride & not wait an hour to rejoin.
Others weren’t as lucky! I saw several people pedaling like mad but going nowhere as I was on the ride, as in at least five that I passed. (There were ~562 people in that ride, so I saw more people than usual too.) If it had happened to me the last km instead of the first I wouldn’t have been very happy, Zwift. /scowl
So this says the thread has been solved, but I’m posting here to say (contrary to Jose’s comment) there is a hard cap in some rides at 25km now and it didn’t used to be this way. Used to be you could finish your second ride no matter what (as far as I could tell).
I’m suspicious you could finish a solo ride now and might try that tomorrow, but at least some “real” rides now kick you out with a hard cap at 25km. Seems like a mistake. At two monthly rides (albeit one under 25km), Zwift can stay a regular habit I step up to a paid sub during the winter. At one ride a month, I’m going for [night] rides on other options during the off-season.
Update : 2025.07.17 > STILL OK TO RACE !
Tried it on “SISU Tour Stage 4” , I had 3km free trial remaining, at term I clicked on “not now” somthing like that (as opposed to “sign in”) and finished the 17km remaining plus continued after the line… Still good ^^
