When creating a group ride, we need to option to disable “keep together” during sprints and KOMs to allow riders to strive for PRs while maintaining group integrity for the rest of the ride.
You could use a “Fence” for the ride and drop it at whatever distance leading up to a sprint or KOM that you decide upon. Then reset the Fence after the sprint and get everyone behind it again.
