I missed it!! Crickey. A proper rider. Thanks.

Did you enjoy the ride? I’ve done some of the celebrity rider events and found they were really low quality events with so many riders that riding in an endless stream of people is more or less the same as riding completely alone, plus endless inane chatter of celebrity worshipers that the leader can’t possibly respond to most of it, and yet it keeps coming and coming

I rode with my man Victor Campenaerts this week as part of these rides and he had technical issues with chat so Matt Stephens had to relay messages for most of the ride as the ride leader.

Definitely not ideal.

Yep, I did, it was great. Freddy Ovett was there too. Both were pretty chatty and MVDP was happy to answer some questions. It wasn’t really celeb worship from the riders around me, it was jokes and light-headed qiestions to the both of them (including mentions of Freddy’s famous Dad, Steve, who some of us remember very well).

Secret pro tip below:

Are these rides on Discord talking chat?

I have to say I had no idea who either of them were - so no celebrity worship stuff for me. I don’t really follow pro cycling at all.

If it wasn’t for the unlocks available I probably wouldn’t have joined the ride.

I’m mad keen on pro cycling. Yesterday was an epic day of great racing. MTB, gravel and road. Keep at it.

Dave.

No, unless a particular ride is by a club who have their own club Discord chat.

So references to chatty celebrities means they’re madly typing away

Frodeno and Sanders are very well known triathletes. :stuck_out_tongue:

Frodeno won the IM world champs 3 times and the Olympic men’s triathlon in Beijing for example.

Sanders has come second in the IM world champs twice, and he’s been training on Zwift for years. He’s worked with several times Zwift in the past. Was sponsored by them too I think.

Just read on Zwift Insider that there is a “fun” GC league for the Racing Score “Community Racing Festival” starting on 7th October.

I done this ride this morning at 9am GMT but didn’t get the Big Birthday 10th Anniversary kit.

Does this mean I have to do it again.

We only have to do 35 races for that :joy:

Not best ten results from series?

As far as James said on Facebook it is ranked firstly on numbers of events done and secondly on your overal time on those events.

But how hard can racing daily for 7 weeks be ? :joy:

And we are helping @James_Zwift winning a bet with his Director of Racing at Zwift who said no one would do all of them.

I’ve seen him before on some old pace partner group rides. One of the few pros I’ve seen who seems happy to chat with the group. The others are all very quiet.

You get the weekends off seems quite doable if you don’t do other events. The races are usually not super long

Ride as many of the Community Festival races as you can, mostly as easy pace, you might simply win GC by default by having completed more races.
