I am using the direto elite pro trainer and zwift. For years it worked well but since the last update it is not possible to drive with a higher cadence. For example i want to drive the workout „The Gorby“ than I have to bike 200 Watt for 5 Minutes and Zwift throttles the watt on a cadence of 35 to 39. So, I am not able to ride normal or with a higher cadence. Csn you tell me what the problem could be?
Hmm… i haven‘t changed the gear because I thought the elite trainer and zwift does this automatically. I can try it.
If you are using erg mode then you shouldn’t need to change gear.
If i am understanding you correctly you are trying to pedal faster but the resistance doesn’t get easier so the faster you pedal the more watts you are producing?
Is the trainer paired as both power source and controllable?
Is erg mode on? (you can check this in game by pressing the up arrow if using a PC or tapping the screen on a mobile device or on the companion app.) if it is try toggling it off and on again to see if this helps.
Thanks
Yes, you are right. I tried to deaktivate the ERP mode but after the training. I will aldo do a check again if the trainer is paired correctly. Maybe it helps for the next ride.
Sometimes you have to change gears if the trainer power is out of range.
A few days ago I had a ride and it worked. Yeasterday I installed the new Update and now it is horrible and not possible to ride with ERG Mode. I tried to bike 130 watt, what should be very easy vor me but the system throttles down my pedals to a cadence of 3 . I was not able to do anything. Do you have an idea how we could solve the problem?

Not too sure what you mean by throttles down your cadence to 3? Do you mean it is really hard to turn the pedals?
If you do a free ride is the power reported what you would expect? Or does it seem really low? Have you calibrated your trainer recently?
Yes, i can‘t pedal in a normal way. I am not able to pedal right. I should bike 130 watt and it feels like a biketour with 2000 meters of altitude.
Oh the calibration could help… i will try it. Thank you!
the trainer should automatically adjust the resistance based on the cadence you are doing.
so if u pedal faster it should get easier.
if that’s not working then ur ERG mode is borked somehow.
try looking through trainer settings in elite “MyETraining” app.
also check trainer is connected as “controllable” in zwift when starting up.
I’ve seen more and more issues with the Elite Direto trainer…
I know I’m not contributing much to this discussion, but it may be a hardware issue…
Elite forums are invite-only which makes it totally fun to report issues
You can look for firmware updates for your trainer by downloading the Elite app.
It didn’t solve my issue with my direto, but hopefully, it can fix your ERG issue
Buying a kicker when I move… lol
There’s a good chance you need to regrease and/or clean up the threads that are controlling the magnets for resistance.
I don’t think it’s true that the Elite forums are invite-only, but in any case they’re not there as the official support channel. You can reach Elite support at Elite Support
oh sweet thanks
