Zwift Ride + Virtual Shifting = Better for my knees

I’m about a 2 weeks in with my zwift ride and jetblack victory trainer and I can already tell the virtual shifting and the smoothness of the ride is going to be beneficial for my knees. Anyone else feel the same way?

I’ve never heard of shifting smoothness (or lack thereof) affecting your knees. Are you saying normally (with a regular cassette) your shifts are jarring your knees? That seems odd to me.

I could see how the steadiness of an indoor trainer might help your knees since you are not rocking from side to side - maybe that’s more of it?

I feel like my knees are more sensitive when I’m on the Ride than when I’m outside on my gravel bike. I’m not sure if I just don’t have the setup dialed on the Ride yet or the workouts are more taxing than my IRL rides or what but I think I have the opposite affect than you do.

Yeah, I’m referring to using a regular cassette.
