I just finished a race, Outta 24 stage 2 and looked at my critical power curve and it shows my 10 min best is 300 but for the race , the 10 min was 210.
I can’t hold 300 watts for 2 min!
I tried in a work out this week, in fact, my goal for winter training is a 3 min power of 300.
Is there a way to clear all that old data out.
I used ZPower 5-6 years ago but I can’t think of how that 10 min power would be associated with me.
Still some use for it as a guide for people who don’t race. But as it’s w/kg based it doesn’t work well for people above or below the average weight range.
If zwift keep it hopefully they recalculate it using a modified compound score based on FTP which will work better for the purpose
Thank you for listening. This is a positive step forward for the racing community. I am sure there is more learning and iteration regarding floor and flexible pen ranges to come to keep racing fair and fun for everyone. Excited to see this in action!
How are you ZRS’n at 507 with a very similar 20 minute and 5 minute but WAY more from 60 seconds and down while I’m scoring at 615? I would not stand a chance against the likes of you in any race. We’d stick together until the last 500m and then you’re gone. My 15 second is on a par with your 60 second power. Makes no sense…
I am a sprinter who does not like 20 minute plus efforts indoors and I don’t need to use true all out 5 minute efforts all that often. I tell Zwift my actual ftp and it means nothing for some reason. Stage racing and points races motivate me and they require different tactics and that may be driving my score down as some have mentioned. Your point is why I have been speaking up as I have been gifted a sandbaggers paradise.
If I have to make ethical decisions and manually select race categories then the game is actually broken.
All the talk about power, FTP, w/kg means nothing once you have a ZRS.
It’s all results.
If you’re underseed, go win races and move up.
Overseed folks still have an issue if they can get below their floor.
Ditch the floors.
We don’t know what happens to ZRS if you race up to your expected cat (if underseed) or just race above your cat if properly seeded.
But I don’t think power matters anymore.
It’s results.
If 2 riders finish together, their scores will change the same.
Predictions based on wpk are otd- well kind of and not really (obviously ) but now, that’s why we race the race.
There are two types of racers. Those who keep striving to upgrade, get faster and keep chasing that dragon. And, those who want to just keep winning at cat 3/4.
Sure you can, just do lots of focused training and allow time for recover. You want lots of 6x5min and 7x5min intervals with a moderate cadence to get your legs stronger. Get them used to the burning and you’ll get there.
I won’t hear any talk otherwise - just work work work and you’ll get there. I came back from a much worse state.
Obviously you don’t use anything Microsoft…and many other vendors. Zwift even state ZRS is “A work in Progress”. I’m happy they are trying to do something about Sandbagging and other cheaters.
Oh, I’m certainly trying to meet my goal but I was addressing my current power curve that has performance figures from " I don’t know where".
Perhaps the numbers are from the old ZP days but now I would like to see a corrected curve.
The old curve with obviously incorrect data is useless.
I hope to hold 300 watts for 10 min someday but first, I will have to do so for 2 min.
I think for me the only really main flaw in this type of seeding using 5mins, 10mins, 30secs or anything of low value is scenarios like.
I am racing and this is the hardest race I have even been in. I am pushing as hard as I can to stay with them and I did it for 5mins. Its my best 5 mins ever. I then got dropped and finished well behind. I tried so so hard to stay with them.
Now using a 5min to determine your seed the ZRS would see oh look at this fantastic 5min power but have ignore what happened after it. Its the after it that is crucial to where the person belongs seed wise.
I am not sure how this version covers that part. Some people might say but if they got dropped their score will go down. But would it really if their 5min was the best they have ever had?
Be nice if they had something looking at your full power profile as that is the only time I feel we get a full painted picture of a persons performance. Zwift has that much data from all the rides going on every day that it should be able to pinpoint sandbagging as well.
