Zwift on Surface Pro and ARM64 processors

Not sure if the rest of you have tried this again recently, but I ran Zwift a few weeks ago on my Surface Pro 12 with Snapdragon and it actually worked! I did a workout and everything. The only issue I saw was some landscape textures blinking in and out as I rode but other than that the app ran smoothly and logged my workout. Give it a try for yourselves to see if something Zwift did in a recent update fixed your issues!

The other possibility is that Microsoft has improved their emulation layer that allows it to run games like Zwift that are designed for a different CPU architecture. That emulation is not very mature yet, I know they are working on it, and they have millions of customers who have bad gaming experiences on that hardware, far more than the user population of Zwift which probably does not register on Microsoft’s radar.

seeing your comment i just tried again on my dell xps with snapdragon x elite x1e80100 and have to say its a millions times better.

It wasn’t an actual ride but fanview in watopia then makuri (as known to be harder on resources) and it was pretty good. Certainly useable id say so would need to test it on an actual ride next.

I actually tried it today (SP11 with SD X plus) and while it started out just fine after about 20 minutes I started to get blinking textures which gradually got worse and worse and it finally crashed after about 30 minutes.

I am going to give the various emulation options a try to see if something in there helps and for the time it ran performance was perfectly fine. Unfortunately not stable.
