Zwift and MTB

I am new to Zwift but I have a jetblack victory and I am going to use it with the zwift cog and click. I would l like to know dose it matter if you use a Road bike or a mountain bike in races ? and dose it matter what size your chain ring is >?

You can use any bike that is compatible with the trainer (not all bikes will fit on all trainers, so make sure you check first). A small front chain ring could be a disadvantage, but that might not be an issue with virtual shifting anymore? I’m not 100% sure how customizable the shifting is? In the past, people on MTBs with small front chain rings would spin out easily all the time on flat roads, and they would not be good for racing.

The virtual shifting should prevent the small chainring on your MTB being an issue - it calibrates itself automatically at the start of each ride.
In game though, putting your avatar on an MTB will be a huge disadvantage in almost every circumstance. There is no need to put your avatar on a MTB just because that’s the sort of bike you have on the trainer.
