Hello all,
I’m a recent member and still amazed with the Zwift world. I wanted to buy a smart treadmill but looks that A lot of people had the same idea than me. The choice wasn’t big but since I’m living in the Netherlands I acquired a Benelux local treadmill with great reviews. The site said it’s Zwift compatible but the only thing that it does, is to start the motor and nothing more, no reading. My avatar just stays there and no miles are being counted or nothing moves. I tried with other apps and I can even control treadmill. As I said, the reason was to buy a treadmill compatible and this one says and announce that is compatible with Zwift. Hope that someone can help. Best regards, José
You didn’t mention it so want to make sure… when you get to the pairing screen did you select the treadmill as a speed source before going to the world selection screen?
What is your setup? (PC, Mac, AppleTV, Bluetooth, ANT+, etc) this might help those of us in the forum troubleshoot a little better
Hi DKE,
Yes, I have 3 options: run speed, heart bit and cadence. I selected run speed, from the list choose the treadmill and pressed ok and run.
As soon I press the treadmill, the workout is started and the speed in the treadmill goes to 1,8 km/h. I assume there’s communication.
I’m using the an iPhone and a iPad for the testing, connected directly to the treadmill Bluetooth.
The treadmill should not start automatically after the pairing screen. When you are in the pairing screen with the treadmill listed as the speed source, if you turn the speed up on the treadmill is the value increasing on that screen?
Looking at Zwift I am not seeing that manufacturer/brand listed as a supported treadmill. You mention the website where you bought it mentioned it is Zwift compatible, can you post a link to the site and/or screen shot?

Sure. The website is in Dutch.

Not exactly sure, I’d recommend reaching out to the dealer you bought it from to confirm if your specific treadmill is considered “newer model” as listed below from their website:

Thank you! I did that already and I’m waiting for an answer. Also contacted the manufacturer but the answer provided was not adding any clarification. Was simply “open Zwift, select Run Speed, and you should be able to select the treadmill”. I mentioned and added images of doing that process.
If they don’t answer, I’ll return the treadmill and order a treadmill part of the compatible list.
Also bought this treadmill. After installing it worked directly with Zwift. Just start Zwift and in the pairing screen, after 10 secs, the treadmill was shown.
Jose, did you fix your problem with connection the treadmill? We’ve just bought our virtufit treadmill and it doesn’t show up at zwift app. We tried zwift at different devices and it didn’t help. I’m wondering if there is something more we can do.
Hello Steven!
I’m planing to buy this TR500i too, but before, i’d like to know if this can auto incline in Zwift? In free run and in workouts?
Bedankt ![ ](https://emoji.discourse-cdn.com/twitter/slight_smile.png?v=12)
Hi Cedric,
No, it does not auto incline. You have to manually adjust the incline.
Thanks!
And in a workout, it adjusts the speed automaticaly?
No treadmill will adjust the speed to match the workout.
@stuart, do I understand it well that you say ‘not a single threadmill available in the market will adjust the speed to match the workout’ ?
In Zwift that is correct. Zwift will not automatically change the speed.
Have you recently found a good overview of what IS supported by the threadmill<>Zwift integration then? Don’t want you to explain everything, but I’m not finding a good introduction myself
Presently the only data Zwift effectively reads from a treadmill is speed. There may be some more expensive treadmills on the market that can also read cadence but I don’t know of any that are compatible with Zwift.
Therefore cadence has to be sent to Zwift via either a shoe based pod of an NPE Runn. Both of these can also send speed to Zwift.
Zwift will not as standard adjust speed or incline in either workout mode or free run.
In the future potentially the incline of the treadmill may be changed according to the gradient of Zwift but I’ve never seen any plans to do this from Zwift. I doubt they would ever go as far as having automatic speed as this is far far more risky than changing incline. If you’ve ever accidentally pulled the emergency stop on a treadmill when you are running at full pace you will appreciate how dangerous this is so imagine being on a sprint drill and then going to a recovery pace. Or setting your pace wrong and it then automatically increases the treadmill speed to way beyond what you are capable of.
Auto incline is possible using Windows/Mac devices with the QZ Domyos app. I have this and once you work out how to get it to work it works very well. The app is also brilliant simply for sending your treadmill speed to Zwift.
Effectively it turns a dumb treadmill into a smart one.
Hi,
For who is interested, there is an extensive thread way below in the list about the QZ Domyos app. The developer has been responding to questions in there as well.
I purchased the TR200I last week and it connects easily to Zwift, both direct and through the companion app.
Actually the app that is suggested by Virtufit (Fitshow, but we already have Zwift) does change the treadmill speed, and that works fine. You can hit the Stop button in the app or on the treadmill for a controlled stop. I really hope that Zwift will at some point add the auto incline and speed control so we can focus on running (and sending Ride Ons
)
