You’re right. I take back what I said because I was talking at cross-purposes (i.e. video capture on a PC for a separate device).

@Gerrie_Delport_ODZ @Steve_Hammatt OBS is well free.
But with a PC (instead of MAC) we are not able to get acess to AppelTV sreen

How are you connecting the PC to the ATV? You need video capture hardware, e.g. an Elgato device.

ATV and PC are on same network only. I don’t have “capture hardware”.
I see it’s so easy to perform sreem mirror with MAC and ATV with QuickTime Player.

I don’t have a ATV but do a search on google for OBS record ATV.

You’ll need a capture card of some sort. i use one of these (discontinued)

or new version

Elgato i would highly recommend as well.

There are some cheap capture cards although i have no experience of them so can’t tell you if they are good or not. The main difference between the really cheap capture devices is they just transfer the signal for your pc to encode. Where as the above and elgato will encode on the fly so putting less load on your computer.

i’d be interested to try some like this if it works then it’s cheap.

This just appeared as a notice today for me, 1 day to go. I have to buy a new PC as mine is fully integrated all-in-one! BAH! I don’t care what my FPS is, this isn’t a shooter game

It is happening with March update - not before mid March.

Nevertheless it is a 3D game. Where would you draw the line in terms of acceptable performance? Zwift literally only exists because of how it looks; a 3D virtual world to ride through instead of a bunch of graphs and text. Creating that world and running it somewhat smoothly requires a base level of suitable hardware.

It’s a shame that your system seemingly can’t be upgraded and so you’d be forced into spending money by this change, but if you don’t care at all how it looks and just want to train then there are many other platforms that will continue to work on your PC indefinitely.

PS: used all-in-one PCs with 20in screen that will run Zwift roughly as well as an Apple TV 4K are readily available on eBay. They’d want an extra 4GB stick of RAM adding, but otherwise they’re ready to go. They have an SSD so Windows will boot in under 15secs and Zwift in around 30secs.

They’re £65.

Thank you for all clarification.
Unfortunately my PC is not located close to my ATV.
And all “capture card” shall be connected by USB to the PC.

Am I now one of the few who can no longer sync custom workouts with AppleTV just because my PC no longer meets the minimum (graphics) requirements?

@shooj As Dave asked before, is there a plan to address this?

Good excuse to sack the Apple TV off. :stuck_out_tongue:

 It’s only because I was searching eBay for cheap PCs he could use solely for that purpose (roughly £40 by the way  ) and then I thought it would be daft to buy one and not upgrade it a little… :sunglasses:

Dave, why should I?
I don’t see the need to upgrade my PC just to sync workouts. That’s just rude of Zwift that there isn’t another option here.

It was a joke, but that’s one of the drawbacks of the platform people overlook.

Hi Zwift

Since today Zwift won’t launch.
The PC used for Zwift is a HP Desktop - 460-p001no (ENERY STAR), see screen dump of configuration. Has the installed videocard in this PC been abandon over night? Or should it still be possible to launch Zwift on this HP PC?
