There are loads of route badges now that can’t be easily accessed either because there are no events planned for the course, or when there is one it’s an inappropriate time.
I think it’s about time these routes were either changed from event only to normal or at least made available for meet ups.
I respectfully disagree. Event only Routes are harder to get. You need to keep your eyes open, to find the opportunity to get. If you were allowed for meetups, all you would have to do, is make a fake meetup. There isn’t any challenge in that. JMO
Help me understand the reasoning for a route that has a Route Badge for completion would be exclusionary and restricted to Events only?
There are already Zwift Challenges.
Routes that have a Route Badge for completion should not add an additional challenge that requires pure opportunity (scheduling, frequency, etc.).
@Dan_Kothlow
I just think the Route Badge is more valuable if there is some twist, that makes it harder to obtain. That goes for anything, if it is a little harder to get, it would mean allot more.
“to me, anyway”
These forums are full of people trying to trick the system, so they can get their little gold cup, beside their name. So disappointing to me.
I work 45hour weeks which makes finding an event only route a challenge in the hours I have to train, and then the events often use the more exciting routes which leaves some of the less exotic event only routes with no scheduled events making it impossible to grab the badge.
After an age on Zwift, I finally picked up the classique reverse badge after doing the “club” thing. Zwift hacks shows no scheduled rides at all on that route.
Maybe I didn’t make my point very well.
I wanted the Tron bike. So I signed up for the Everest challenge, and climbed 50000m. Everyone who has a tron, has done the same.
You want an Event only badge, so you need to find an event on that route. When you get it, you will know that anyone that has the badge, has done the same.(Luck, or by chance for some)
My biggest complaint/disappointment is changing the rules or requirements.
I really wanted to get to level 50, then 60. (Kind of a badge of honor) Zwift finally gave us 100 levels, but they didn’t think it through. I will get to level 100, but it doesn’t mean much. Some people will have 1 million xp, others will have half that.
Changing/lowering the rules or requirements for anything, doesn’t help anyone. Just lowers the value. I’m not directly talking about an exercise game. Basically anything in life.
Don’t get me started about politics
